I like your cartoon MJ.
by the way this is the correct link for videos waiting to be encoded.
http://www.crunchyroll.com/uploaded
its a long list indeed. I guessing that not even the media mods have the power to removed files before they are encoded correct?

These aren't all of the problems. People aren't being smart when they upload subtitles. There are various subtitle groups out there that have requested that their subtitles not be used on this site.

We really should require for uploaders to label their videos as to what subtitle group subbed the videos. I think it would make removing the videos easier and also help prevent people from uploading videos that have already been removed. Part of the problem stems from the fact that people do not understand that the site Silent Regrets is not a sub group; the site provides hardsubbed files from sofsubs that other subtitling groups did.

Also, people are having contests to see whose video will be approved. The obvious clues are from the large number of the same files on the uploaded list (mainly Naruto, Bleach, and the popular drama series). This isn't necessary; there doesn't need to be contest to see whose video will be approved. That's just stupid.

If you're uploading a video, write the label in ENGLISH. I have seen so many videos in Chinese, Spanish, Korean, Japanese, etc. I don't mind if you have the original label on there as long as you provide an English translation. This makes organizing the video easier and allows the moderators to focus on approving more videos rather than trying to figure out where one video should be placed.

If you're complaining about your video not being approved fast enough, chances are your video was "lost" (in this case, PM a mod with the links to your files), you labeled your video poorly, or you didn't provide a sufficient summary of the series (if it is a new series) so a mod has to go out and find a summary which is time consuming.

So if I upload a video burned with subtitles I wrote, I should put a note in Description, crediting the subtitling job?

I did think of putting in a note like Pewee does for his uploads, but what concerns me is it might get CR in trouble for being associated with a DVD rip (via a note burned in the video itself). I don't want a distributor to use this as evidence against CR, so my current solution is to make it anonymous.

But on the other hand I want to personalise each upload to show that each subtitling job was done for CR (probably the only current site I'm willing to sweat bullets for). So when people download a subbed video from CR and upload it elsewhere, I want people out there to be aware that it's a CR video. I don't know if CR wants this or not. It's a dilemma I'd like to see resolving.

It seems to me that only people who care about the credits are those who write subs for TV dramas?

The Great Wen -> The Great Boil -> London. I'd already did some sub jobs, but I don't put a credit in those.

What I'm trying to find out is -- can I use 'crunchyroll.com' as a credit in subtitles?

Or would that get CR in trouble in case it'd be used as evidence against CR for hosting films?

Y'all should start 86ing people that continue to do this---lightens the server load in two ways.

True, the problem is that even if the forum moderators (the only ones that can ban) do so the upload is still in the queue until shinji removes it or it has tried to be encoded. As CR is still a project shinji is working on there are still things to improve. That is why we as moderators try to tell people what not to do. We appreciate the encouragement, but please be patient. (this is not intended to you dontmindifido)
People need to understand this was created by and is solely maintained by a college student who has papers to do and classes to go to. This is not youtube where there are 50-100 people working around the clock on the site. Starting to complain about stuff and expecting things to be dealt with because 1 of 20,000+ users asked for it is absured.
The problem in the end lies with the people uploading CRAP or do not fill in their descriptions correctly! NOT shinjis slightly faulty system or with the moderators.

<<Was one of those dummies kinda... kinda sad I didn't realize it. At least I asked asked first about it...

Bah. I was working on a paper yesterday while I was uploading some music videos onto here, and I carelessly forgot to include a description of the artist - I was wondering should I PM it to a media mod so they can add one or should I just leave it as it is?

Anything music video-related should be PMed to me. I review the description and sometimes add some things in (websites, etc).

EDIT: You don't have to give me a description, I'm slowly adding them in (it's very painful) but I appreciate your help.

^She sent me the description and I added it. I'm going to have to add in some more and the website later.

I swear everytime I go in there, there are a bunch of new artists.
