Definitely the original source, of course!

and yeah...trying to have a whole novel compressed in only 2 episodes (volume 7) and then after that have volume 8 completely skipped/altered (which is probably the most important volume in the series because it has the most character development)
is just a little.....sad...

book and anime :), book is more ecchi... and more detail while anime is funnier cause of the voice and Louise's berserk mode

i think that's where most ppl read the light novel too, at least the ppl that cant read japanese anyway and u might as well start from the beginning since it'll take a while for them to reach to the current part of the anime

He is talking about the current progress of the translation to english on baka-tsuki...which is @ volume 6 or about halfway through season 2.

Currently in Japan they are @ volume 14....and i think the anime for the third season goes only to volume 12

...someone might wanna check my numbers though....

i think there should be some guidelines though with this poll....being that you should be exposed to both mediums before you vote

and what about the manga? or does nobody care about that? poor mangaka

its hard to tell seeing how much the anime jumps/alters from the novels...

but judging from the pictures off of baka tsuki... i would say the end of ep 4 and some of ep 6 (the naked apron) is from volume 12... while episode 7 will jump back into the main plot which is when tabitha fights saito which is in volume 9.

either way...the english translations dont go up that far....
