Actually none of the above.
What they should do is give an alternative. Funimation hasn't Licensed it yet, but they might soon. The Big Problem is D-rights and Funimation act like the whole world is jsut made up of Japan and the USA. If you live elsewhere your screwed, because none of them care if their "official" DVD will reach your country. Let me quote myself... Gonzo is one of the few anime studios to realize that the World is bigger than just Japan and the USA. Their free streaming (for a limited period) gives us the same experience as those watching the shows on Japanese TV ...and what Gonzo is doing actually makes sense. If the Japanese can watch it free on TV, might as well share the experience with viewers around the world right? Not everyone has access to the official DVDs (depends where you live) and not everyone is a collector willing to spend $$$ for their expensive DVDs. I really believe that Gonzo's free streaming is a good alternative, D-rights and Funimation should follow what Gonzo is doing. |

....Why? We were so close to the end! This always happens. Why can't they hold of licensing things until the last episode. Then at least the most devoted fans get a sneak at it before it all gets pulled down. *sighs* I guess its okay though. It just means I have to buy it, if it ever gets released in Australia.... Which might take like, 4 years. Haha. The first season of xxxHolic is only JUST being released. We're lightyears behind.

It's not fair at all. If it's licensed in Japan and in the USA then couldn't CR just block US and Japanese viewers? That sounds mean >.> but you know when you go to like nbc or tbs because it said you can watch chuck or my boys and then it says 'this video is not available in your region'. It could be like that couldn't it?
*sigh* Mind you, for all I know it's going to be licensed "here" in Canada any day now >.> Does this mean an English version is coming? Nabari no Ou is so awesome. I'd actually pay for it if I could find it. EDIT: Anyway, I'm not too too upset since I found the direct download site from Yuurisan Subs: http://www.yuurisan-subs.org/ It'll be on Veoh as always still. At the same time, I'll probably end up leaving CR at this rate. Such a nice site...if only shinji didn't care about getting arrested...jks jks don't ban me xD |

Didn't anyone see this coming?
Well, they want to make money out of the anime you know? If you can find the DVDs in your stores you should buy them. If you can't maybe you could try ordering online. We all hate the licensing thing, but life isn't always fair. Get over it and move on. Better yet, find a solution. Yuurisan still subs it right? Go on Veoh. If you can't watch on Veoh, go on Youtube or something. Or go learn Japanese and watch the raws. You don't have to take classes to learn. Buy some books or learn on the net. (Sorry I'm just pissed with everyone going "OMGSH ITS LICENSED IM GONNA KILL THE PEOPLE WHO LICENSED IT STUPID PEOPLE" kinda thing. I know it's normal for people to be like that but seeing that posted all over the comment board is really annoying me.) |

Khtrinity wrote: Why do they always license the series worth seeing? Okay, I know, stupid question, but it's so unfair :( They license good animes because it's popular. And actually, Nabari isn't really licensed yet. Quoting from a post in KHR forums: it's not licensed, not in north america it's not. d-rights the anime studio that makes hitman reborn gave funimation power of attorney, allowing funimation to enforce d-rights copyright of hitman reborn in north america. to my understanding, it's not being distributed in north america, d-rights is basically being a whiny pussy and forcing streaming sites to take down the anime content. and yes, there are much better ways to get the anime. i dl via bt, ddl or irc in majority; i only visit crunchy occasionally. monochrome factor and mabari no ou are 2 other series that d-rights is having funimation take down from other sites. i wonder what funi's getting in return... |
