TV is 'free' because you pay for cable/satellite/digital and commercials are shown on the stations you watch. Sponsors (who advertise with the commercials) give money to the stations in order to show television shows.

On another note, aparently Yuurisan-subs got a C&D themselves u_u

Dear Staff,

This is Lance Heiskell at FUNimation Entertainent. We can confirm that FUNimation Entertainment has obtained has obtained an agreement authorizing FUNimation to act on behalf of d-rights to prevent infringement on specific titles.

The authorization agreement for d-rights is for 5 series in total:
Monochrome Factor
Nabari no Ou
Kateikyoushi Hitman Reborn
Bamboo Blade
El Cazador de la Bruja

Though these series have not been licensed to a local distributor in North America, it is important to note that the rights owned by Japanese producers are still applicable, and enforceable, worldwide.

*Cries* T^T I liked Monochrome Factor as well uwaaaaaaaaaaaah!

Honestly, I'd PAY for Nabari no Ou. They should set up their own direct download and streaming site. They could put commercials and ads on it even with accordance to the viewing country...charge $1 to download the episode. It would be fair enough no? I'd pay maybe a buck fifty per ep. That's what I'd do if I had an anime to my name.

You are right. Especaly at the end.

And what gets me annoyed is that there is potential for a business model were the japanies anime copmanies can directly control their distribution to sites like this that lead directly to us hungry anime fans with out haveing to give up the rights to their intelectual property for distributing companies who are just middle men. They the distributing companies forget that they are providing a service by acting as a middle man to delliver a product that the consumer would not be able to get otherwise. Right now with the internet we can get the product by other means wich means the need for the for that old business model has diminished. What we have here are companies trying to holed onto an old model were they still have power.

The comunity ie a good majority have spoken the curent model no longer works, it did back in the 80s and 90s but is just nolonger viable. If the anime componies set up aomething like gonzo has there would be no problem and monie from advertisers and such would mean good income. The most popular show on a site like this say vampire knight would like tv chareg more to avertise on that stream of video. Its all doable but that would mean some midlde companies unwilling to change with the time would go down. Just like tv infomercials got rid of alot rid of a lot of door to door sales men.

I won't be surprised if I cannot find the anime in my country.... That's why I usually get it online.. But WHY LICENSED IT? Can't they find other source that can make money? Damn it!!!!

I'm so upset about Nabari no Ou being licensed. I'm an expat in Hong Kong, and don't have cable. I watch anime on the internet. I used to feel guilty that it was free, but I sorta started taking it for granted. I rely on watching endless animes for my entertainment. I loved Nabari no Ou with such a passion, it's scary... I'd pay anything to be able to watch it, even raw.

I wish there was an easy solution to make both the money-hungry entertainment corporations and and the entertainment-hungry masses happy. Thanks to the Internet, it's going to be a difficult transition from hard-copies of entertainment like DVDs to electronic sources like MP3s. Admittedly, iTunes is wonderful, but the selection is just too limited!

It IS a licensed work in Japan. And always was and will be. Like any anime. Seriously, the world does not revolve around the US. Oh no wait, lol, it does . But this show has so much potential that it is only a matter of time before (probably FUNimation) pick it up 'properly'. Nabari no Ou is, in my opinion, SO much better both in plot and characters than the other taken down anime, Monochrome Factor. DO NOT HASSLE FANSUBBERS. Come on, those guys put in hard work for us and I know I'll be purchasing the DVDs, probably in three years time when Madman Australia decide it's worth their effort

i hate buying anime dvds. I did so for years and now I have a collection of incomplete series because it was so expensive. I finally smartened up and grew some patience to wait for the box sets but by then Geneon went under and now my shows are incomplete! Dammit!
