After we die, there is nothing. Just oblivion.
I'd really like to belive that there is an afterlife, but sadly, there isn't.
That is fairly damn certain, at least as this point.

There is nothing that indicates that humans have an "immortal soul".
Everything about us that makes us an individual happens in the brain. And when the brain ceases to function, so does our thoughts.

When we die there is nothing. Simple and yet hard to understand.

Afterlife? Sure there is. Wait for more than gazillions of eons and maybe you'll be you again, your neighbour or even the person you hate? I don't know. Anything can happen. You just have to wait^^

I have a vague memory of being in ICU and meeting my dead Uncle. I'm a logical thinker and I was fucked up on drugs so yeah =/ but its was weird! I was like 4 when he died and there was no way I remembered him, but the man I described to my parents when I woke up was him.

afterlife = watching attractive people shower as a ghost.
or being a dick like paranormal activity.

I really don't want to think about it. Religious people have it good here, they don't have to fear nonexistence after death.

You don't have to either, I'll be quite glad not having to think. Lol.

The afterlife is always a fun subject, you can actually learn alot about what people do and want in life from what they think the after life will be. I'm an atheist and a hedonist, don't belive in an afterlife, or good and evil. The only possibility that I hold beyond nothingness, that I actually belive is a pretty good reward after all the work and pain of life, is based on the philosophical thought of the collective unconscience. Except instead of a collective cultural memory that everyone shares, I believe one becomes stuck in ones on conscienceness. The conscienceness doesn't change cause the brain is dead, but your last moment is an eternity spent in your own thoughts. This doesn't mean you live after, since like Einstein argued time is relative, so basicly your last seconds, to you is an eternity. It means that rather than an afterlife based on some sense of good and evil, the afterlife is based more on whether or not you have regrets and how much unresolved crap you have weighing down your thoughts.

What do you think might happen after you die? I have thought about that a lot. Will you just experience pitch darkness for eternity, become another being with fortune based on how you lived your previous life, or something entirely different? Thinking about not knowing what would happen to you when you die scares a lot of people. hearing someone ask you that question is even worse. just wondering what you guys think would happen...don't make religious arguments and curse up a storm now...i think you are old enough to keep your anger to yourselves. keep it clean.

they put you in a box and you rot.
it's really quite simple.
all this "eternal life", resurrection, and other crap is just to get us to behave with the least amount of effort on their parts.
