I believe it's just like being asleep, except that you never wake up. Simple darkness.

To tell you the truth i think this is a question no one knows how to answer until you die yourself but most people will say heaven or hell

It cannot be determined until you die, but if the afterlife is absolute nothingness, then it can never be determined. I believe people are fools when they believe with absolute certainty that there is nothing or something after life.

What makes it so foolish to believe either?

I like to think there's something else. If I go by my religious teachings we basically "sleep" 'till God comes back . . . at the end of time.
That's pretty vague...

I think about the movie Beetlejuice . . . and I figure that's what it'll really be like....

Or one of those surreal anime shows like . . . hummmmm . . ..

It's because there is no clear proof to either to be true.

Lack of proof doesn't necessarily disprove.

No, but inability to disprove doesn't make it a 50/50 matter either.

If we logically consider the concept of an afterlife: A spiritual transportation to another dimension? Rebirth into this world? A transcendence of conciousness to a "higher plane"?

Then compare this to the abundant phyisical evidence of what happens to a body when it dies: The conciousness ends, the body breaks down, its atoms are recycled.

Consider that every living thing that has ever lived would probably be there:
Millions and millions of generations of creatures through millions of phases of evolution

And what we already know about the "soul":
No such thing exists, the myth of the soul arose from ancient philosphers trying to describe the conciousness, now we know that everything that makes us, us, is located in the brain.

Now the probability that an afterlife awaits is next to zero.

soul will be separated from the body and will be taken to heaven where your loved ones are if you are saved

Doesn't matter, I know I am going somewhere.
