He's really versatile and is not afraid to take on edgy roles - that's why I 'm a fan! The other bonus is, he's so kawaii too.

I've seen him in a couple of his movies & tv series & he is definitely a great actor. Not anybody can pull off a versatile performance but him. This just proves that he's got TALENT! I like him most in HYD.

he's the 3rd on my yummy jactors namelist.

:D

love him in HYD, and i kinda thought he can carry off a perm charmingly.
then saw gokusen. but its not really that tough to act as sawada in gokusen. just have to act cold and distant while maintaining to the audience that he still have a warm heart. i think any reasonable actors can do that.

kimi wa petto makes me think that he really can act.

looking forward to hyd movie.

He's always been my no.1 since Kindaichi Shonen no Jikenbo 3,fell in love with him in that drama.
No matter what my sis says bout him,he'll always be my no.1.
I've watched almost all the dramas and movies he's in,I think he's not just another pretty face but he's really talented as well.
Looking good is just a bonus for him.
And lets not forget Arashi, shall we?
Whats Arashi without him?
Love my Jun!

I think his role as "Matsujun" makes me think he really can act LOL.

No, seriously, it is amazing how easily he can slip in and out of roles, both (1) as an actor in the sense that he is reading lines from a script of a movie or show and (2) as an actor in the sense that he is continually appearing in public as the perfect, dreamy, adorable, untouchable idol ("Matsujun"). Whereas other actors can go "off duty" and live relatively normal lives once the cameras stop rolling, as a Johnny (and especially as a member of Arashi) Jun has to work much harder than the average actor to keep up his public image. It's one thing just to be a nice and civil person offscreen, but it seems like every smile or pout (oh, the POUTS) or smirk or cutesy weird face he makes is dictated by the fangirls' whims. (After all, he IS a Johnny's Elite.) I guess it's a lot like the "Momo" thing in KWP, but instead of being some career woman's cute little pet, he's the "pet" of half the female population of Japan. XD

I often wonder how much of Jun's real personality shows through when he appears in public (probably none LOL), and this is why the boyband, idol and star system phenomena fascinate me - I don't know how people can go on playing such a manufactured role for so long. I know it was his choice to enter/stay in the business, but still. Maybe that's why he takes such interesting roles: to break away from - or at least play with - that "idol" image for at least a little while. Or maybe I'm totally wrong and he really COULD enjoy being a Johnny - I don't think I will ever find out anyway (especially since I live on the other side of the planet, haha).

Sorry if this was a bit longwinded- I have a hard time explaining it concisely but I've been thinking about this quite a bit over the past few days because I just marathoned a bunch of his stuff (HYD 1 and 2, KWP, Boku Wa Imouto, etc.)

He is definitely one of my favorite actors, because although he's super attractive, he also does an amazing job portraying his characters. His ability to play multiple types of characters makes him such an awesome actor. At least he doesn't play the same type of character in everything, that would get old. (In my opinion.)
