WHERE IS YOUR GOD NOW

true the bible only has depictions of many things for the sake of STORY and teaching a LESSON. none of these things really did happen. Noah and the Ark is just all fake, and it was also adapted to the legend of Gilgamesh as a god (correct me if im wrong) called Utnapishtim.

It's a faith versus skepticism thing.

You must also realize that even skepticism has to have faith, if you hold such a view to be dear to you -- we can all easily assume that everything we perceive to be truth, no matter how relative or "absolute", is its own rightful religion.

Whether or not you are a Creationist or an Evolutionist, proving your side has a severe limit. Where did God come from? He was simply always there. Where did the supposed grapefruit size of heavily condensed atoms come from (big bang theory)? It was simply always there. If we hold the law of physics to be true, matter cannot be created nor deystroyed -- basically God, nor the condensed ball of atoms, could have been pulled out of an invisible ass (to which a sure question would arise "Where did that invisible ass come from?"). Human beings must have something to grasp onto, despite the fact that their belief is highly hypothetical and cannot be solidly proven. If humans weren't able to grasp onto something comforting, they'd turn into incredibly apathetic creatures and apathetic creatures never lead a content life style. Finding a niche of contentedness is what we strive for, so whatever allows us to feel satisfied, we'll hold onto it for dear life -- after all, we are indeed, living.

I don't doubt God. I believe that He's real.

Here are 3 sources of Doubt:
Source #1 - Worldly wisdom
Worldly wisdom creates doubt by such methods as the constant advocacy of evolution theory in schools, TV programs, etc., under the guise of science
Source #2 - Satan
From the beginning Satan has attempted to raise doubts about the honesty and goodness of God. Daily, he still whispers in our ears, "Yea, hath God said?"
Source #3 - The flesh
Perhaps the greatest source of Christian doubt is the weakness of our own flesh. To wit...
"We have met the enemy and he is us."
"Too much analysis leads to paralysis."
"The spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak." (Mt 26.41b)
As with Peter, we too often take our eyes off the Lord, to gawk in alarm at the raging storms around us. When we do, we sink into the sea of our own doubts.

I belive in God.

Here are Christian solutions for doubt:
Remedy #1 - Study Christian evidence
The cure for doubt is a strong dose of faith.

Christianity is not based on "a blind leap of faith," but upon specific evidences of the truth. Evidences such as the empty tomb, the eye-witness testimony of over 500 witnesses to the resurrected Jesus Christ, and much more.
Check HERE to find links to several lists of Christian apologetics and evidences. Visit these sites and study them. Doing so not only will help arm you against times of doubt, it will also make you a better witness to your unsaved friends.

Remedy #2 - Study the Bible
The opposite of doubt is faith, and faith gains strength by hearing or reading the Bible.

Remedy #3 - Talk to God
In Lk 22.31-32, notice that Jesus did not say He had prayed that Simon Peter would be exempt from Satan's attack. No, Jesus prayed that Simon's faith would not fail during that attack.
And remember, God didn't keep Daniel out of the den of lions. Instead, God protected him while he was among the lions (Dan 6.16-22).
When I confronted dire circumstances in the past, I always asked God to make the problem go away. Now I know better how to pray.
Oh yes, I still ask God to eliminate my problems, but now I also ask Him to sustain my faith if He decides I must go through those problems.
Based on Lk 22.31-32, I KNOW Jesus prays right along with me, that my faith should not fail.
Ask God to sustain your faith. Jesus will pray right along with you. Does it work? Oh yes! God never fails!!!

That is nice. But I am asking the reasons why people doubt "GOD," from a personal point of view. I didn't ask for Biblical examples of the existence of "GOD." That is nice that you believe in a Christian God, as I do as well. But please, refrain from going off-topic on this thread, for several reasons. Thanks for your cooperation, if you will comply.

Thanks for the reminder. I just wanted to write some solutions after I wrote the sources of doubt. I wasn't contented with writing only the source. Don't worry, I'll comply.

I have read this one before. It was quite entertaining.

ah? too bad i was hoping to post something original-ish.. havnt read it myself due it being so long but heard good things about it..

anyway i just cant bring myself to believe in some powerful otherworldly being whos never once been seen.. im expected to full heartidly believe in an omnipotent being who can fly, live in space, whatever, who loves everyone and yet will send the nonbelievers to suffer eternally in hell after their life ends..

heck if he hates someone enough to send them to hell for eternity why must he wait until there lives end? and if hes so omnipotent can he make a rock he cant lift? either way whether or not he can, itll only prove he isnt.

imho hes just a crutch for most ppl in this world and for all i know the very thought of him couldve been started off as a scam since the only thing religions seem to have in common besides having a god to worhship is having ppl donate money to his cause.. sorry if i offend anyone
