Well, I am just curious on what people will say on this one.

By "GOD," I mean supernatural beings and the divine.

By doubt, it can mean deny, skeptical, hate, disdain, disregard, etc. Pick your favorite or use another synonym.

Please refrain from having too much flaming and brow-beating.

Note: I am a Contemporary Christian. I am not trying to convert anybody. I respect everyone's opinions, and I believe that we have a choice on what to believe in.

(i know im sry, i posted too much in this forum. ban me if u want) im just wondering, that how come god can rise from the dead? i've never touched a bible ( and don't plan to) , but i heard that jesus rose from the grave, right?

if you believe, you believe.
you dont then you dont.
must there be a reason for it?
if you really want a reason, because he aint real.
i can neither touch nor feel nor see him.
something w/o scientific proof to me is as good as telling me " dont believe me! i'm a fake!"

I don't seriously believe in God or any divine being because I remember praying to God once when I was young, thinking I'd hear back from God somehow but never did. So I guess that pretty much destroyed my faith in anything I can't physically see or trust. That, in addition to seeing extreme religious fanatics, has completely destroyed my faith in any religion...

I put no stock in people of religion. I've seen the so called "Will of God" in enough murderers, madmen and liars.

there's nothing to doubt abou him, really~
just that we lack evidence to truly believe in him...
besides when things seems so wrong, blaming him is a certain escape...
it's us afterall....

Is that really the Will of God? Or is it the confused will of man? Is it not also the will of man to reject God and live according to whatever sinful means that make us feel good?

Uhm, I do doubt the existence of God. Why? Well, I think it is better for God if I don't believe in his existence, because otherwise I'd have to insult his whole existence of being a not very helpful God to humanity, he seems to be actually the seed of all evil, well actually he IS the seed of all evil since he is the creator of this world, when we go after the Genesis. But tbh, I can't disprove his existence, but even if he exists, he is no good.

Digs. I know you are a Christian and all, as I am as well, but please refrain from having discussion like this on this thread. I want to keep this thread clean and free from insults and such.

Eririel you don't have to respond to that.

My Personal Opinion:
Evangelizing online seems pretty farfetch. If one must be a Christian, then one must go to the real world and show a Christian character, rather than wasting a bunch of time online arguing with invisible people.

Zen, I agree with you that evangelizing on the internet is one of the worse things I've ever seen. Now I'll just explain why I put no stock in religion.

A religion is characterized by its people. Since I do not believe in God or the teachings of the holy books I have to evaluate it by its followers (Results of their beliefs and teachings), the same way one evaluates Marxist socialism and communism not by its teachings but by its results.

So before Digs begins his evangeli-fest, I would like to ask if he has ever received death threats, harassment and bricks thrown through his house by evangelicals? Because if he hasn't, then he should bloody well consider that I have experienced it first hand.

Totally logical. But the same goes for other belief systems, like existentialist and atheism.
We are just so flawed as human beings.

Well I completely agree and I certainly object to double standards. Its just that I'm always angry that whenever I give a blunt and brutal point of view, the first thing the Christian does is immediately claim that the "evil doer" is delusional in some way.

Look, I admit I've got prejudices due to my experiences and that I've been more or less mercenary in my dealings, but I'm at least willing to admit that I'm a bloody asshole if someone points it out.

So here's the deal. I'm an asshole whose also prejudiced, vengeful, hateful, apathetic and completely amoral. But you know what's the best part? I'm happy being flawed, because the minute someone starts talking about perfection is the minute I know they are full of it. Imperfections are safeguards and there for us to learn from experience and to build upon it.

A wise man once said, he who never makes mistakes, never learns anything.

Did people actually throw bricks at you (I mean your house) because of your beliefs?

Yes. I've moved houses at least five times now because apparently, I'm a heretic.

If you don't mind, what country do you live in?
Five times is just too excessive.

Side Note:
By nature, I am probably a Nihilist, but I love my faith, Christianity.

Well I'm based in Singapore at the moment. My last four times was in Australia.
