I am liking it so far. I really enjoyed the original Futakoi and so I decide to watch the spin-off series.

See that's what I thought was so interesting with this show. Rather than the original Futakoi show which I thought was a blathering annoyance of some stupid kid who couldn't make up his friggin mind. This show brought up a lot of interesting situations in life for instance, Love between more than two people, The importance and significance between age groups, The difference between love and sexuality. I really thought that this particular series had some very interesting ideas and deep questions and meaning, even through all it's silliness. Referring to the person I quoted, the answer to your question in this story, is that wrong for two people to both be in love with the same guy and still be friends. That was also a presented question in the show that they answered near the end when it was just the main guy and one of the twins while the other twin was off with the guy for the arranged marriage. They showed that no matter how hard they tried they didn't love each other the same way when one of them was missing from their trio. Although overall, the idea of two underage high school twins being in love with the same guy that is in his 20's, and still being comfortable with each other seems kind of silly, improbable, and wrong (or I should say politically wrong). You still can't help but look at it and wonder and think, can a love like that really exist and not be wrong or obsessed with sex and have that kind of innocence.
Huh. Well that's kind of why I really like this better than Futakoi. The original Futakoi didn't present anything new, where as Futakoi Alternative really got me to think.

walls of text are always fun to read. But yes, Futakoi (Original) was nothing but a non-linear story that really had nothing to do with anything. Futakoi did not really bring out anything new and flashy that would generally attract the viewer. Instead, it brought a few ideas a harem should have, but didn't provide anything 'original'.

Futakoi Alternative however, is exactly like you said. But the thing is, the squid as an evil enemy threw some viewers off and could no longer take the story seriously. That could be a reason why some people think the original is better than the alternative. People just aren't comfortable with such an... unattractive looking foe.

The ending probably ends up with polygamy. I mean, it is a strange world and he did save the world. He should be able to have what ever he wants!

It seems you saw the same kind of situations I did. Although I can agree with your aspect about how people would give up because of what simply seems ridiculous in a very serious and intense show. The only thing that is sad about that situation is, if there is anything I've learned about good writing, it's that if you are provided with a good and well thought out story and then suddenly the writer brings in a factor to the story that seems really illogical and ridiculous, often times it's to make a point or a statement in the story that can often be used subliminally. Now I noticed throughout the story the squids were a subliminal plot device used to develop the characters and deal with background development. Sometimes also ridiculous things such as these squids are used as a form to take something complicated and explain it in terms that people can understand easier. For instance the squids represented a physical form of everything Rentarou hated about his life. The idea behind the squids being indestructible helped show Rentarou that sometimes simply destroying what you hate can't make everything better. See that is just an example behind the many importance's that I noticed behind the strangeness of the squids.

I agree with you guys, original offer nothing more than a silly boy that cant even made up his mind! I have my patience watch original, and my answer for original is, really sucks. I cant understand why many people love original than alternative ?

I mean, oh god, its not I hate stereotype anime, but Futakoi (original) just too bad. I cant find good points from that anime except for Shirogane chapter. I love other stereotype stories like Futakoi (Sister Princess, H20, etc), but I cant stand with Futakoi. What the hell with futakoi?? its no more than harem nonsense anime, with no plot, even the animation quality is poor, better alternative in all ways.

Same with kyon, Futakoi Alternative was my fave when its just 4k faves. That time, the original was close, even bigger than Alternative faves. And now original just 8,4k faves, not compared with alternative 10,7k faves.

At least people know what is really good

the original didnt suck its just a common story line that most harem shows uses.

i wont say i like futakoi better den the alternative (because i havent watched it LOL) but i feel that Futakoi was a really interesting anime.

Nonsense? All Harem anime are the same
Plot?Same all Harem anime have this kinds of plot
Compare?Average
Animation Quality? What the hell this doesnt even matter

you can say you find Futakoi boring , its your own opinion but criticising the storyline is definitely out of the question.

Some people prefered Futakoi some prefered the Alternative so what? they all have different tastes in anime i mean not everyone likes horror ,some prefer comedy to romance or vis versa.Thats why even if everyone you know prefers this anime rather den that anime there will surely be a person out there that will prefer that anime.

Ok first, I have to apologize to other Original fans for my rudeness.
But I have a reason for it. The one bring confrontation first is original fans, they say alternative is silly, failure, bad etc etc.
I will accept they word if they watch this entire eps and feel that way, that critics you say
But many of them watch only 2-3 eps and give their bad opinion, that seems not fair.

I have my bad word about original, but hey, I watched it until the end
My opinion based by my experience watch the 2 series, full
But some other original fans not even reach eps 7 of alternative and say all the bad things about it

Its true that harem type have this kind of plot. Some of them made me enjoy it
Even original have some episode that a I like, such shirogane eps and I have good laugh in ui-koi eps ...
Just please, before you say your opinion, watch it until the end
Even you dont like it, its make your opinion feels fair, cause you have strong point to argue

Original and Alternative have their own good way, just make sure you judge them equal and fair
If you watch full one of them, and only watch 3 eps of the others
Then just make yourself silent.
