A brilliant case study for this is the American Prohibition period.

What did Americans do? We kept drinking anyways.

Moved from forum games to general.

Nothing because I don't drink I think it would be a smart more to make it illegal

it would just be like the prohibition days. The Kennedy's would be running booze to the Chicago mob and we would all start talking like James Cagney.

Not really. People would riot and probably burn places down or something. It has happened before and people just kept drinking anyway (I think). I think it was an amendment to the constitution but they changed it later on.

It's not me you have to worry about....
...It's the heavy consumers who not only boost the nation's economy but also boost the list of applicants going to the hospital. **whistles nonchalantly**

what if your children drink before they turn 10.

over 21 is a good law.

even if they make it to 18, still ok, but not below 18.

But then people would eventually stop rioting... Alcohol isn't good for the body anyway.

i would be pissed, but there'd be a black market for alcohol so it wouldn't be that bad.

They tried to do it in the early 1900s in the United States. No surprise... It didn't work... we kept drinking and it gave criminal/underground organizations more power.

If they tried to do it again, it'd probably have a much greater negative response than it had back then, so I'd doubt it would happen. If anything they'd probably put more laws into effect to limit the age/amount of consumption but not like that would really stop people completely.

hard alcohol is pretty evil. it's responsible for more violence / deaths than most illegal drugs.

on that note.......i recommend:
not too trendy, not too expensive, just right

No they wouldn't. They would keep going for a LOONG time and chances are it would create more problems than keeping it legal. Of course it isn't good for your body but making it illegal won't help people. The people that drink so much that it really messes up their body aren't going to stop. They'd find other ways of getting alchohol. Just like any other illegal drug.

I also forgot to add that alchohol isn't just for drinking though. If it became illegal Listerine or Scope would be closed down. And if it wasn't people would get wasted off of Listerine and that's way worse than getting a normal drink.
