The problem my American friends is that you are the biggest power in the world (for a few more years until China gets ahead anyway) and so your actions affect EVERYBODY. You start a war for your own personal gain, we inevitably get dragged into it thanks to international organisations like NATO. (Iraq) Your economy goes down, you take all the other economies with you (like right now) Therefore who you guys vote for matters to us- we need the best choice not only for America but so that there is a strong leader to maintain international stability- not simply selfish American interests.

And then you guys went and voted bush in, not only once but frickin TWICE.

And how can any of you even think of voting for McCain as his successor, he is after all quite clearly a warmonger- something we REALLY don't need with the current situation with Russia as he is very likely to escalate tensions and put us on the road to WW3 and nuclear armageddon. And don't even get me started on his choice in Vice President. (who please remember will automatically become president if McCain dies mid term- and seeing as he is in his 70's that is a very real possibility)

You could change a lot of British perceptions simply by voting for Obama- who is a man with brains and some genuine political skill- as he has proven by rising to the top in a still shockingly anti-black America. If he was a dumbass it would have been impossible. It also helps that he is a man who seems to care what negative impacts America has on the rest of the world world and even more impressively he actually UNDERSTANDS how the world works and of America's importance to the international order.

What is this "Genuine political skin he has proven by rising to the top" that you speak of? the only genuine politcal skill he has is talk and TALK is cheap sir. Furthermore, why don't you push Britain to the top instead of blaming america, america, america, stop saying its america's fault, its Britain's(parent's) fault for not succeeding like its offspring america did, kinda like what the parents can't do, it teaches(err... what it doesnt teach) the child (america). Don't say Britain can't be like America b/c it can, it's just ur beliefs and values don't concur with the rest of the world like america sry but its true

1) yeh we gained so fucking much from the war
get a clue......
the E.U countries wont do shit............
someone had to fight Radical Islam and we are it....

2) China won't do things any better...
all its been good for recently is deporting Tibetans off their own lands

and 3) how does British perceptions matter to anyone?

IF IRAN make a bomb who would have to go to war to set them straight??
certainly not britain even if it agrees that Iran having the bomb would be bad...
so the U.S would be forced to fight !

and even after that we'd be portrayed as the bad guys somehow

im glad some one shares similarities in my comment... ya America is forced to take up the badge as officer b/c america is the only county able with the power and good morality to do good for the world (even if some countries dont see that) I'd like to see some other country do what america did... which would be none unless you can give me a name of a country that could do what american did in the past... WWI, WWII, fight radical islam, Keep aggresive governments in check (Iran, Korea, Cuba Etc)

I mean China is a pretty big country, although its pretty inactive in keeping world peace not to mention its human rights records <-------LOL

Russia isnt any better, its pretty much the same as China, India it not even close to being totally developed but there progressing, but not organized enough to do anything atm, i dont even have to say anything about the E.U. The total population of the e.u. probably doesnt even come near the total poplulation of North America, do they even do anything that doesnt even concern them?

not to mention all these ethnic / religious conflicts
were partially due to the European Powers "making up border" during colonialism
without taking into considering who were in these countries that they just made

Example blame the British on creating Iraq
thanks for putting the Shia's and Sunni's together in the borders you drew for Iraq ..... its really helped us a lot

oooh a history flashback ya! lol ty europe for making it easier for us... although who would imagined this would happen way back =X All there is to say is that there is no country with good enough sense to take the badge of police for the world. FACE IT! No country is strong enough and morally correct enough to do what america does.... although in WWII if it america didnt hop into the save europe and protect pacific west coast bandwagon, we'd all be speaking german, italian and/or japanese(although those countries today now are fine =])

Lets see if any other country can handle whats happening in the middle east, if they can they let them do it instead of blaming america for its mistakes, that any other country could have made geeez.... its like helping a person but then instead you get sued for helping them

Please think before you reply next time. America is STILL heavily racist against black people- it is still ingrained in many of the older generations and particularly in the southern states. Indeed such racism exists in the political parties too. Think how hard it must have been for Obama to get the support of his party relative to how hard it would have been if he was white. He would have faced discrimination at every turn even from those who werent themselves racist as they would fear a black man would be unable to obtain public support and win them power. Obama quite simply HAS to be exceptionally skilled otherwise he would not be in the position he is in now- he is there against all the odds through nothing less than his own political ability. White people like Bush and McCain simply have to be rich and have rich friends to fund the campaign to get to the white house (it is how your system works). All they need to do is tell the voters what they want to hear and they are there. Obama actually has to achieve something.

And dude if you remember Britain had an empire that covered 1/3 of the entire landmass of the earth and it lasted for more than a century- it succeeded far more than its 'child' America ever has in its day- and the reason we don't go to the top now is that we simply don't have the resources or the population to do so- in case you didn't notice modern day Britain is a pretty small country. Its obvious if you simply think. And strangely enough you celebrate this little thing called 'independence day'- You rebelled against our way of thinking for christs sake and yet you blame us for your new systems flaws? Lol. And more to the point that was I believe a couple of centuries ago- don't you think you have had time to sort things out for yourselves by now?

Now I have finished showing the cavernous flaws in what you said I'm going to point out that none of it is even relevant- right now America IS the biggest power and it IS America's responsibility as the strongest power in both the UN and NATO to keep order. Research both of these groups and how they work and you will see just how much responsibility America has internationally.

=__=;; How is the US an "imperial power"? We're in a bloody recession right now. Hundreds of thousands are loose there homes and jobs. There was a whole news segment on how the majority of Americans are having to use credit cards for small purchases because no one has any money. I work at a fast food place and couldn't tell you how many people use a card just so they can buy a cheeseburger :\

Although I'm not sure if the UK is going through the same thing. That is something I'll have to look up.

i know right!

when did it become Americas duty to protect everyone?
would Britain go to war to stop a Islamic dictatorship like iran getting nuclear weapons?
no disrespect but why are we forced into the position where we have to take harsh action
because no one else will and yet we also have to swallow our pride and take the insults
about our country and out ppl

even in this forum there is so much America bashing going on under the surface
and not just about our idiotic administration but about us as a people

why would we want to help such a world?

and your right about racism but the way it is today
even in the south there is change in the youth

they way you put it , it seems like your trying to show
we're an oppressive society that hasn't changed in the least
the plight of black ppl in the country is due to the hiphop culture influencing kids
to disregard education

and btw most educated Americans value the Britain more then anything
as a country we don't blame you for anything and its pointless to fight with
a country which taught us so much
those who are laying any blame or animosity towards England are probably uneducated
retards who are trying to antagonize ppl
pay them no heed in the future
