How to make designs

First you go to File >> New and there's a popup. and the bottom of that pop up should say "background contents" click on the drop down menu and select transparent.
that's how you make transparent

So you go to designs on crunchyland and download the base you want with the link they give you, and then you open that in photoshop. it's probably transparent already and the dimension's right so make a NEW LAYER.

My demo'll be the chibi cuz i like making designs for that better. i'm gonna do this image here cuz i cant think of anything right now

This is pretty similar to the hair tut but somewhat different too.
so First. select the PEN TOOL and at the top select paths icon instead of shape layers

Now you zoom ur avi base to 300%. o ya make sure your brush diameter's at 1px and ur color plate is black


Now you make an outline of your item on the new layer you made a while ago with the pen tool.

now right click on the path u just made, select STROKE PATH> and in the dropdown menu select BRUSH. DO NOT check mark the simulate pressure.


After you click okay, right click the path again and click delete path, then all there is should be a black line.
After you finish all the lines you need, make a new layer , and drag the layer to be under the line layer

again outline the whole image again with the pen tool, this time change the color palete to the color u want ur design to be

right click on the path >> fill -> foreground color >> okay and then right click and delete path.
Use the same method to do the shades. but make sure the shade layers are ON TOP of the base color layer and BELOW the line layer

AFter you finished all that. click on the eye infront of the avatar base layer to disable it so all you see is your design. Then go to File >> Save for Web select PNG in the dropdown menu

and save it

did u make sure the bg was transparent when u saved it? (checker box) and check is transparency is selected under the drop down menu where u choose png-24
