Mages => Strong during lvl 10 - 50. Declines until 120+, when you can use Genesis, Meteor, Blizzard. Drains tons of cash for mana potions. Not recommended.

Warriors => Pathetically weak at lvl 1 - 60. Eh, middle tier throughout the game imo. Range > Close Combat all day.

Assasins => Strong throughout the game, don't bother if your poor. Needs excessive funds for stars.

Bandits => Similar to warriors, hard to train until 70s when you can mob with Meso Explosion.

Bowman => Similar to Assasins, but can not jump and shoot. Unique class, too bad it sucks until lvl 120 when you can use Hurricane. Did I mention that xbowmans are the WORST class in the game?

In conclusion, it all depends on your willingness to grind in the game. If you suck at grinding, become a Mage. If you excel at burning your eyes in front of your monitor, by all means, go Bandit, Assasin, or Warrior. They are decent in a long run.

For bandits, your dex should equal the amount needed for your weapon, rest into luck. 25 dex required to be a thief.

And don't play private servers right away, you have to understand the pain of grinding hours and hours to get to lvl 100s+ before you appreciate private servers.

No. Do not train strength.

Strength only significantly affects warriors. For example.

100 Strength, 0 Luck. => 100 - 200 dmg.
0 Strength, 100 Luck. => 300 - 400 dmg.

Yes, it's that different.

Like I said before, raise your dex enough to wear your armor / weapons, more info about that can be found in websites such as hiddenstreet, mapletip, ect, and put your rest on luck. Luck => Damage for thiefs / bandits.

Yes.

Be sure you don't screw up your skill points, resetting costs RL cash. You can easily google "Maplestory Bandit Guide" for a guide on how to allocate your skill points.

For mages when you roll the dice get a perfect 4 str and 4 dex-then pump full int or int+required luk or low luk if your good at scrolling.

for warriors-get a 4 int and 4 luk roll dice...everything else pump into str and if your good at scrolling leave your dex at 60-70 minimum.

assassins-roll 4 str and 4 int-for sins you have to be normal sin which is luk+required dex, low dex meaning you rely on your scrolling (prefer getting luk saunas instead of dex saunas) or dexless sin meaning you have godly items to equip your claws. (dont make this unless you have another char supporting it...specially buying the stars)

luk bandit/str bandit- roll 4 str 4 int- luk bandit is same build as sin while str bandit well...i dont recommend it

as for bowman havent really played them that much-but i do know for sure 4th job xbow snipe skill rocks.

But mages of level 120+ have the skill Infinity. Just pump that and you will have infinite mana, then the worries of draining mana is all gone

Ehh.. i'm used to playing on a private server with my bishop lol. It's a hassle to cast infinity every 45 seconds when you can spam power elixirs. But yeah infinity works too. It's useful.
