Name three mecha anime geared towards the Shoujo demographic.

Exactly, you can't; that's why.

Nope, not at all. It depends on what anime are you watching. For example, all three main girls of Magic Knight Rayearth pilot their mecha. In Neon genesis Evangelion, 2 out of 3 main characters are girls who pilotting their mecha (Rei for Unit 00 and Asuka for Unit 02 respectively). In Kannazuki no Miko (the mecha fight were crappy though), 4 out of 7 Orichi mecha were pilotting by girls. So I guess it depends on if the anime genre is toward more for shonen then they are more pilotting otherwise it should be well balancing in term of women pilotting as well.

lol you're a guy, you want to see more hawt girls in robots? lol kidding
I think because the main demographic is seinen (16+ males) so there are more male leads, though the female characters present tend to be stronger than in shows with shounen demographic.

Does that answer your question?
Anyway I rather liked the fact that in Evangelion 2 out of the 3 main Eva Pilots were female

That is like saying, why there is Maho Shojo genre instead of Maho Shonen.

Anyway, ever heard of Sakura Taisen?

This is a mecha with a girl pilot. Hundred times better and cooler than GS and GSD's gundams.

ya thats my kick ass girl kallen

well there is those twin sisters from full metal panic TSR who pilot an AS unit. i think mai-hime counts as a mecha in which the chicks control their mecha(well sort of) and mahoromatic where mahoro is a fighting android herself and controls the black cat

Hell yeah, man. High five for being Eva's fan. Seriously, I know a lot of people who don't like Evangelion and I have to say that they are missing out. Oh well, there is no perfect anime that everyone will like. Everyone has different opinion so I have to respect that. But yeah Evangelion is the best mecha anime for me XD

Well, there are two girls who pilot in Gundam 00. The first one is Soma Peries (the white hair girl that you are talking about). Then there is Nena Trinity (who has red hair color). Hope that's answer your question.
