Member proud2bme 24526 cr points Send Message: 28 / F / Malaysia Offline	Permalink Reply Quote Posted 8/20/08 I heard a lot of comment saying that people got stuck with dis anime only after watchng couple of ep. so just curios whats the scene, ep or 'thing' that make u realise dis is a good anime. as for me, I only watch it out of boredoom n laziness of finding other series. my 1st impression is dis is weird n ridiculous, until ep. 8 where the op song is played in d middle after Gintoki complaint that his the main char not the shinsengumi ~ "if i'm not in here why is it call Gintama?" i just thought 'ok dis is new' n start to focus more when watching it. thanks to god for my laziness ~ sometimes its paid to be lazy i still find dis anime weird n ridiculous though, but in a good way >_< so whats ur story?

Offline	Permalink Reply Quote Posted 8/20/08, edited 8/20/08 The art, I don't know how it happened but I was looking through veoh last year and suddenly all these Gintama raw episodes came up and I really liked the look of them. At the time I still mostly watched dub but for the art I thought hey I'll watch it anyway. I didn't like the first few episodes really until Kagura showed up and got run over. That moment where Gin-san starts searching for a time machine is what got me glued to the screen and desperatly wanting more

	Permalink Reply Quote Posted 8/20/08 I got hooked since first episode. I like the style of comedy where someone make fun of him/her self. Like, when Gintoki pull his sword-then run. I don't really like bad-ass character who gives away great speech or is insanely strong, because it's usually a cliche. But when I saw that scene, I decided that this anime is my cup of tea. Actually, the first episode I watch was the Otsu-chan's concert (Your father is XX).... It somehow give me an impression that there will be many dirty jokes (which I quite like)... So I keep watching.

I also needed something to make me laugh, helps me unwind after a long stressful day at work. When I stumbled onto this anime by chance, I was intrigued by the opening scene of an impending fight in a bamboo forest between Gintoki, a samurai using nothing but a bokken and a bunch of sword wielding samurai. Gintoki looked so serious and cool initially and then when he ran, I laughed my ass off. But the kicker was when he ran onto traffic and was almost ran over by a flying car! I was hooked right then. I still watch it as a stress relief, but mostly to see what trouble the yorozuya are going to get into next!

Member silas0898 338 cr points Send Message: 40 / M / UK Offline	Permalink Reply Quote Posted 8/20/08 I was checking out various animes on Stage6 and watched the 1st double episode, liked the insanity of the characters, and the extremely random humour, so watched a few more episodes, then watched them all, then declared it my favourite anime ever, I think it the pythonesque humour that gets me, you never know what you're gonna get, you know they're gonna win at the end, but you never know if its going to be from their own efforts or dumb luck(eg. space cockroaches lmao).
