I started reading the manga when it first came out, and it just hooked me on. Now with the anime it just makes it even funnier.

1) the use of puns
2) the endless jokes 3) the different characters in the anime and their voices 4) Kagura's aru-aru, Catherine's weird accent and Sa-chan's breathless (?) speech i love the anime basically for the seiyuu's great work and the ability it to make me laugh every time, without fail<3 |

Long story.....
One day I visited my friend's house...she showed me ep 18(underwear thief) and 27(virgos will die!).....I nearly didn't survive when returning...almost die laughing...... but then later on, I didn't watch more episodes, I don't know why either.... and one night, while playing msn and is so stiff bored, this same friend gave me a link: www.crunchyroll.com !!!!! and told me to watch 'Code Geass' I obeyed her because it was a really boring Holiday and registered on this very website and started watching Code Geass... by that time, I was in a completely somber mood and that serious anime is not doing me anygood....I decided to stop after a few minutes.... Then I suddenly realised an anime she showed me a couple of weeks ago...what was the Title again? is it 'Gintama' or 'Kintama'? Then I decided on the anterior (luckily) and started watching episode one (I found the existence of OVA later on.... ) and got hooked immediately |

I love the dry humor especially - someone mentioned Monty Python-esque and I totally see that. There is emphasis on how the lines are delivered rather than just comedic situations. I also really like the character development (how everyone has their own distinctive strengths, weaknesses, weird personality quirks and food preferences), that it's not predictable like so many others, and the mixing of genres - you get a little bit of everything with Gintama - comedy, history, sci-fi, action, adventure... and apparently there's hentai potential according to some. I've seen a lot of good anime and Gintama is probably my favorite.

It's randomness. More randomness. Just plain randomness.
Need a better reason than that? |

Heh.. I got stuck watching this anime when I saw ep 7 in youtube, i couldn't find ep 1, at first it looked like a shitty ol normal anime, but i dunno, when it gets funny, i laugh like im watching mr.bean, i think the protagonist, Gintoki, made it interesting 4r me, coz of his laziness attitude, like cowboy bebop, an interesting anime, where the protagonist is juz as a bum like Gintoki is... i had a feeling Gintama is going to make my day... Heck.. my first reason for joining CR was because of Gintama.

Let's see...
It's very bold, and the concept, story & the way they talk is way different from the manga these days. The way they talked about things and the way they uses different things is great too. It's sad that some people don't get what Gintama is trying to say sometimes ~ Can you find any manga that somehow teaches you the real things in life these days? No. (: It's also a nice break from all the fighting and super heroes save the day stories *cough*cough*Bleach*cough*cough* |

Episode 5, which was random and hilarious, yet there was a bit of action, and then the end when Ginpachi-sensei is like "that's cause it's so lollied, bleah," I was like WTF love.

That's what she said.

1) the absence of fangirsl declaring which guys are hot
2) the awesome fighting scenes and the humour scenes 3) retarded humour 4) good op and ed songs 5) No repetitive fight scnes 6) no storyline, no characters declaring that they need to get stronger (although KHR may be an exception) 7) distinct personalities between each individual And mainly the fact that Gintama, Blade of the Immortal, Fullmetal Alchemist, D.Gray man and Katekyou Hitman Reborn are my all-time favourite animes!! Every episode always manages to make me laugh and when it gets to the fight scenes, the sword skills are absolutely stunning I actually got interested in this anime because i saw it in an anime magazine and i decided to give it a try and i got hooked on the first episode cause of the blunt yet funny insults directed at each other |
