As long as Video games live so will Mario. Although Nintendo does need to make games that aren't the exact same thing over and over again.

Forgetting Mario? No way. Not only does he have a mustache (list me modern day heroes with mustache in this crappy age of bishounen and other pretty boy characters), but he's also an Italian PLUMBER!

Slowly the newer generation of gamers WILL forget what Mario represents. The image of Mario will probably live on as the plumber guy that represents Nintendo and the character with a mustache in Smash Bros. As the games become more advance, the whole gaming industry will evolve with it. Although saddening to many of the traditional and older generation of gamers, Mario will be forgotten.

I honestly think that what will happen to Mario will be similar to what has happened to Sonic. Yes, he will fade away from our lives for quite some time, but then he will come back.
I can only hope that they don't do to him what they did with Sonic, and start to get WAY to carried away with bringing in team members (Shadow may look cool, but if he is so fast why does he need a freaking motorcycle?).

Yes were forgetting about him, thats why every game that sticks Mario in the title sells a guaranteed million.

From that comment, this topic should be, "Are people forgetting about Mario's greatness." Which would then be Yes we are (I was being sarcastic before if you haven't yet realized that.) Mario games used to be innovative, like Mario 64 was innovative, and it set a standard for 3D controls in games. Now what is he doing? Adding a little shake with a remote or a pointer?
