Hayate The Combat Butler has recently been licensed by Bandai Entertaiment. Well it was only a matter of time... I hope they have the same announcer from Bo-Bo-Bo doing the announcer for Hayate.

The only way I can imagine the dubbed version being any good is if they re-write a good portion of the dialogue, like Funimation did with Shin Chan. A lot of the references and humor in Hayate just would not translate well over to english. If they concentrate on being witty and funny (which is what makes Hayate so good in the first place), instead of trying to a direct translation, the dubbed version has a chance at actually being decent.

Well, there obviously going to change the dialogue a lot, like you said about Shin Chan, it's going to make no sense if they did a direct translation, I mean, hell, I barely get it now as it is subtitled. I don't mind if they dub it, but at least get half-descent voice actors, don't get peaople that will half-ass their role. That is about all I got to say.

Does not matter. I won't watch it anyway. My heart is only dedicated for the Japanese dubs with English subtitles.

LMAO that seemed a bit dramatic xDD

right you are but still both dubs and subs are happily put into english and if no one did we would all have to learn japanese and watch in raw and that would be hard T_T well acutally not really... (im looking forward to hayate dub)

It won't make sense, the jokes and references would not mean anything to the people watching it.

Most English dubs are bad for anime because it's extremely hard to find the perfect voice actors for the characters. However, some anime dubs are done pretty well.

Can you imagine trying to find the perfect English voice actor for Nagi? You would have to go through hell to do that!

Ack. Why is everything licensed VERY shortly after I start watching it? -_-

I honestly hope they keep most of the direct translation. I've only seen three episodes with a group and everyone loved the subbed version.

Shin Chan (although I have no idea how weird the Japanese version was to begin with) is just... bleck.

Well, if they release accurate subs... heck even if they don't, I'm buying it anyway. DVDswantnao. :<
