Can you imagine trying to find the perfect English voice actor for Nagi? You would have to go through hell to do that!

I think the voice actor for Chiyo from Azumanga Daioh would fit.

It was mentioned at New York Comic Con today that Bandai's Hayate no Gotoku DVD release will probably be sub-only.
I'd expect it will probably be released on 4 thirteen episode sets.

I insist on direct translation for Subs, but for Dubs I don't have a problem with them being a little more liberal in translating as long as they keep the feel of the original.

It helps them market things to a wider audiance, which helps make more money, which encourages them to bring over more shows.

More Shows = Win

That's obviously a fandub.

Based on comments Bandai representatives made at a recent comic convention it is highly likely that they will not dub the series.

Hmm... I hink if they stuck to the english manga more it would come out pretty darn well as far as dubbing. But eh thats just me. No matter how it comes out, I want it >><<

They might do what they did with Gurren Lagaan. Rapid release of Sub only DVDs and then go back and take their time making mass market release dub versions.

That way they appease the Fans created by the Fansubbing community in a hurry (nothing kills demand like waiting 2 years for the legal DVDs to get released) and gives them time to rewrite the script in a way that will let the show gain popularity with a wider audience for the Dubs.

That sounds like a good dub, and its supposedly being done by a company "Reads Description." Could use a small touch up but otherwise that would so work for nagi i hope the company gets payed to a dub XD or a *shudder* fandub -.-, who knows.

I can't believe everybody here who says Dubs suck.
There are some amazing dubs out there
-FLCL
-Full Metal Alchemist
-Neon Genesis Evangelion
-Cowboy Bebop
and Ghost in the shell to name a few.
Sure a majority of dubs suck but don't say something sucks without hard evidence of it sucking.

But in any case.
Sort of sad that Hayate no Gotoku is licensed now. I never got to finish the series. Same thing happened to me when I stopped watching Baccano! T_T.

I would never leave from the voice of Kugi-chan.

but if I ever, I'd demand those companies to RE-DUB most of the anime to a more thoughtful and reasonable match to the characters. AND no changing music!!

i dont understand why people like dubs yea you can understand it better but the no offense amican voice actors can never do the high pitched screams without sounding like crap most of the time or when the characters complain it sounds bad i havent seen many animes with dubs that sounded good

I remember a long time ago.... when hardly anybody knew about Hayate. Now they license the goddamn thing, making it difficult as hell to find the anime version. Maybe I should just stick to the manga...

i actually like dubs better because i dont have to read the subtitle while trying to watch the anime. It makes watching more enjoyable and less interrupted. I just hope the dub version of this anime will not be bad as some dubbed anime. There are actually a lot of amazing dubbed animes that most people doesnt notice.
