Simple. Minimize the time the lights are on and don't leave any on you're not in the room. Unplug unused appliances and electronic devices (phantom loads). Consider what you're going to get from the fridge before opening the door so it doesn't stay open as long. I also try to take shorter showers and use cold water if I can. Luckily(?) it's been pretty warm so I can get away with that. Finally, get out of the house and do something outside - but doing that may require spending money.

Who cares? You're gonna die anyways, at least die comfortably. Plus, they can't charge you when you're gone. So the millions of dollars in debt you spend you life making, instantly reverts to 0 when you die.

Err, you seem VERY narrow-minded. Wait. You are.

Save energy in general by turning off lights, changing to economy bulbs (and remember to throw them away in 'special waste'), take out rechargers when you're not using them, if possible use solar energy, walk, using bicycles instead of cars, replacing the car with an electric car, take shorter showers, purchase an economy shower (head), RECYCLE everything that can be recyceled, think energy efficiency (isolate roof, walls etc to save the heat) etc etc. There are lots of things to do! But I guess the most important thing is motivation.

I'm not narrow-minded, i just understand that electricity is infinite and that it doesn't effect the environment in the least. So really all that you're doing is wracking up your own debt, which does disappear when you die. So it's not a narrow-minded perspective, it's a lot of twists and turns that leads to the obvious question "Do you want the lights on or not?"

You should start reading something about this issue before drawing erroneous conclusions.
