I decided to have a section for its own, anime that is.

Antique Bakery - More than the obvious thing that the legendary patissier is a demonic gay, the overall mood of this anime is similar to Bartender in the sense that is a 'slice of life' style, drawn in a simple manner, nothing too over the top, yet there are chibi moments to lighten the mood. This is also a 'feel good' anime that is suitable for most ages to watch.

Antique Bakery is unique in a lot of ways that is tries to incorporate many different elements to produce a satisfying watch. Put three guys with totally different lives, opinions, lifestyle and French pastry and cakes. Doesn't this sound wonderful already? Yet this anime doesn't just focus on these three men, but also with the customers, and their lives and problems. This part of realism is further enhanced by realistic cg effects of a 3d perspective scenes (eg shifting space within the bakery) and real images of pastries (in the ed scenes) later edited to fit in with the rest of the anime. This experimental anime deserves to be enjoyed.

(I wouldn't say it's a shoujo anime, although it tends to lean towards this genre.)

Chiko, Heiress of the Phantom Thief was something I watched a long while ago, but it still remains fresh in my head. Up and off we go on an adventure! How would you like to be liberated from scheming guardians who can't wait to have you dead, and be whisked off into the air with a very mysterious phantom thief? Very interesting indeed. Although it doesn't make sense to me what kind of a plot this is, it's really stretching imagination to the max! I loved the part where mr. butler tore his face off. I'll leave you in horror at that statement.

Ryoko's Case File is oh so jazzy, so mysterious. Ryoko graduated from Tokyo University, is working for the Tokyo Metropolitan Police, is beautiful, intelligent, and knows more languages than you can dream of. Specializing in law, and solving bizzare cases as well as supernatural cases (!!!), I almost ATE the anime in delight. And it doesn't disappoint! I love some of the graphic presentations, like the train shot, head on, Lovely. Nice music, nice drawings, nice voice actors, i think I want to hand feed you this anime. ._.

Blade of the Immortal!! Manga adaptation to anime series, it's definitely one of the quality shounen picks this month. This series looks so delicious, let me just paste the description here:

"To end his eternal suffering, he must slay one thousand enemies!" Manji, a ronin warrior of feudal Japan, has been cursed with immortality. To rid himself of this curse and end his life of misery, he must slay one thousand evil men. His quest begins when a young girl seeks his help in taking revenge on her parents' killers ... and his quest won't end until the blood of a thousand has spilled!

And within the first few minutes, we see Orochimaru's mutated spawn with wonky eyes attempt to blow the hero's head out. He did. But the head didn't explode. Ooh!! Lovely!

If you haven't gotten enough of supernatural stuff already, like ME hahaa then Natsume Yuujinchou will be one to fulfil your Japanese horror needs. Ghosts approach him with a need, but what is it? It's modern Kekkaishi style minus a hero with a will to fight... It's traditional Zero no Tsukaima where the unwilling hero gets thrown into awkward situations. It's alternative Nabari no Ou, where the hero is equally unwilling, but it's not a ninja story! Yeah. My description sucks. Watch it.
