look at the facts. which country has the most famous artists? that should be it.

US and UK imo

Being famous has nothing to do with producing good music.

you're certainly right in a way. But in the big picture those two elements follow each other

Not necessarily. Does making good music mean the music you hear after the digital editing or the live performance? If it's the latter, many famous artist can't sing live such as Tpain. I personally think all countries produce good music. Just because the UK and US' music are more famous doesn't make them better. They're all equally unique and good

Maybe 20 years ago
The big picture today is corporate, mass-produced, pop music.

....................................................................................................................................................................
......................................................................are you serious?....

Why does a band get big? Because they're good. (and this takes time, one cant get really good in a couple of years or so)
And remember: a band that has a couple of good songs isnt necessarily "a good band".
Think of all the bands that was just as popular 20 years ago that they are today. Even if you doesn't like those bands musicstyle you cant deny that they're good.
You should be old enough to remember that the pop had its glorydays in the 90s

Oh and btw. Name a boy band that has lasted longer than 10 years.

You're also right in a way.
Personally I like a clean sound without any digital editing (both live and not live)
They should be able to perform just as good on and off stage.
Music should be written, played and performed by the artists themselves, otherwise they aren't good artists.
And its true that (almost) all countries produce good music. But some countries has more of this "good music" and that takes us to the topic.

Now, which countries has the most EXTREMLY famous artists? Artists that everybody has heard of?
(and NO, little girls, there's not a single boy band included in that category)

yeah, i see what you mean. as an example, I think Radiohead deserves the attention they get, and they've been around since the early 90's. I just get mad when i see all the marketing and hype surrounding all these groups on top of the charts that really dont deserve half the attention they get. And honestly, alot of the bands that were on top of the charts 20 years ago didnt deserve all the hype they got (and still get).

absolutely right. And there are many extremly talented bands that doesn't get half the attention they SHOULD get.
asian boy bands is a big here on CR. Thats because there's a lot of 12-16 years old girls here too. If this was a site with many people in all ages from all over the world and if it was allowed to upload non-asian music here, it would be a different case
