Lies.
There was a much chance of the world ending as the chance of every raven in the world turning pink tomorrow. Yeah, that ridiculously unlikely. Not even close to 50/50 like you say. Not even close to less than 1%

The only risk is the machine getting damaged, and it didn't.

Why is it that people spill whatever they hear without even knowing what they are talking about?

omg, my brother is really worried about this. i think its a good opportunity to prove religion wrong. no offense to believers but i just think it would be funny if you can prove a fundamental part of their religion wrong!

Chances are someones already done it somewhere and just not told anyone

1. They already fired it way before you made that post, and we're still here. (Never mind this, turns out we still have 40 days left)

2. It wasn't built just to prove religion wrong. I doubt any of the people who put any effort or money into this expected it to disprove religious principles.

I guess ignorance makes a lot of things seem funny.

Today was not the actual experiment. They was just testing it. the actual thing isn't going to happen until October 27. so we have a month and a half left.

dont worry man ppl had the same fears with RHIC i bet it will all blow over(that comment has a double meaning)

but RHIC isnt as big and as LHC
so still

also that 1/5000(was it?) chance of black hole that will kill us

you know they are going to use it more than once right? billions of dollars 20yrs in the making
so if they use it 5000 times we might be screwed
