I really want a warm water penguin. Badly. Hopefully a biotech firm will start marketing them soon.

How can I comment about such a classic, interesting and yes, sometimes confusing, anime in such a limited space? It is certainly in my top 10. It has elements of all sorts of different things, ranging from Shakespeare (Hamlet) to religion and sci-fi. The intro music is great. And yes, Pen Pen is cute.

In anime I really didn't come across something as deep as NGE afterwards. Also I really liked how the different angels were kinda surreal. And I really hated Asuka.

I think threre is a thread like this already made and yes it was a very very confusing show with no real decisive ending and the psycological aspect was shitty as hell for me.

I found it to be complex and there some parts that got me thinking too much, but all in all I liked it. I also found it quite funny how angels were the one killing the world when angels are usually associated with heaven, good things, blah blah blah...also those children psychological aspects and breakdown were amusing as hell.

I loved Eva up to episode 25....then it took a turn for the worse...I mean, how the hell do you mess up such a great series so badly in the final 2 episodes? There was no final confrontation, no elegant battle music, no revelation, no surprises, just Shinji wailing 'Help me I want to die' for 20 mins. I thought epiosde 26 might rectify it, but it didn't...the last 5 minutes of ep 26 was all that made sense to me.
So I watched 'End of Evangelion' the first half was great, awesome battles, building up, perhaps, to a conclusion that made sense? Of course not. Somehow, they managed to screw things for a second time...Shinji becomes a God and decides to turn the human race into a pool of goo...yeah...then Asuka says she feels sick...the end. |

this is my favorite series. i was quite young when i first saw it (it was my favorite even back then) so i didn't appreciate it, as much as i do now, until i saw it on [as] a couple of years later. that, of course, led me to buying the DVD box set. i've seen the series and movie over 20 times and it never gets old.
still, the question that's still bothering me is "who killed kaji?" ****SPOILER***** then Asuka says she feels sick...the end. on a related note, if you listen to the commentary, there's speculation that that's asuka, rei and misato in the same body. if you notice her eyes, they're brown, the color of misato's eyes. and then she has bandages on her right (or is it left? please correct me if I'm wrong) eye and arm, the same parts in which rei had bandages at the beginning of the series. again, this is just speculation. only Anno really knows. |

For people who enjoyed the series and want some more, check out the doujinshi "Re-take." Although it's an H-doujin, it is very well done and in the same style as the Eva manga. The storytelling style is right on par with the anime. It basically picks up right where the series ended and keeps going. The art is exceptional as well.
