I watched the brand new remake of Eva which came out as a movie last year in Japan. It makes a little more since than the old version that came out in the 90's

ds0192234 wrote: as for the confusing ending.... if you see the end of the movie you see that shinji did not break through his problems but asuka did(by pwning all those wannabe evas and having that epiphone about her mother) however anno-sama did not give us the clousure we so despreately sought, both shinji and the audience, because none exsisted. shinji is the protagonist, if he made no sense of the situation then we, as the audience were never meant to, though he does leave me thinking that asuka has figured it out or rather she was able to move through it. if you still dislike it fine it's not for everyone. but consider how two anime's like bragonball Z and evangelion have such a big and loyal fan base even though they are worlds apart in almost every aspect. i saw it when i was in high school and it hit me hard. it's like comparing schindler's list to indiana jones, they're both great but one asks more from the audience. Eva asks more of you, tha's all. another great point DS |

Really? I was told rebuild 4 was going to be a drastic revamp of End of Eva: essentially the same, but with less mindeff. I'm kinda scared about 4, though. You can't end Eva without everyone turning into LCL. I actually mostly got the End of Eva...does that mean I'm screwed up? Also, It's not that difficult to get. Read a little on Revelations, the Kabbalah and listen to the song Zero-sum from NIN's Year Zero, and it's basically the same thing. The depth and complexity really lies in how the characters behave. |

They may have gotten some inspiration from that, but how much, I'm unsure. Most of the series draws on Kabbalah (occult Jewish mysticism) in terms of the messed up relations between characters in Nerv and the Angels etc... I don't know what Zero-sum is. |

Zero-sum by Nine Inch Nails:
They're starting to open up the sky They're starting to reach down through And it feels like we're living in that split-second Of a car crash And time is slowing down And if we only had a little more time And this time Is all there is Do you remember the time we And all the times we And should have And were going to I know And I know you remember How we could justify it all And we knew better In our hearts we knew better And we told ourselves it didn't matter And we chose to continue And none of that matters anymore In the hour of our twilight And soon it will be all said and done And we will all be back together as one If we will continue at all Shame on us Doomed from the start May God have mercy On our dirty little hearts Shame on us For all we've done And all we ever were Just zeros and ones And you never get away And you never get to take the easy way And all of this is a consequence Brought on by our own hand If you believe in that sort of thing And did you ever really find When you closed your eyes Any place that was still And at peace And I guess I just wanted to tell you As the light starts to fade That you are the reason That I am not afraid And I guess I just wanted to mention As the heavens will fall We will be together soon if we Will be anything at all Shame on us Doomed from the start May God have mercy On our dirty little hearts Shame on us For all we've done And all we ever were Just zeros and ones |
