I was wondering if there were Chinese animes that I could view on a website without paying anything.

Or if there are some on youtube, I would greatly appreciate some names.

Thank you.

I am hoping it's gonna help my fluency in Chinese.

Hmmmm......I know there are animes with Chinese sub-titles because my cousins watch them and they are not fluent in english. I asked them where they got it and they said they got it from a friend...So I asked where he got it....then they said...idk....So I'm at a lost.
having dubbed anime in chinese...is something else.... What dialect? because there are 2 major dialects in chinese, that I know of.....if you want sub-titled...there are also 2 different writing styles.
Sorry to get all technical, but I think this info is necessary so people can look for the right one you want to see.
I want to see some too....I am too used to seeing the traditional Chinese writiing and the english subtitles together.

I need Mandarin and traditional characters. I would like chinese language and english subtitles though.

If I were to read those characters with my 1 character every 10 second rate, I would be at a loss.

From what I've seen when I went to China last summer, most of the animes are low quality, the frame rate was pretty low :s, then again I didn't watch to much t.v there.

I am kinda scared to download chinese files because I hear a lot of them are bugged by their government. I use torrent files and I think they are outlawed in China. Idk. I know a lot of countries already banned them. It would be very hard for me to find the anime which you speak of. Even the english dubbed animes.....is small compared to the large amount of animes out there.

Probably stick with the Blue dog character ...I dont remember his name..started with a D. Anyways...I know that is mandarin.....Or ummm..... just keep watchin movies that you like in Mandarin.

The best way to recognize characters to speed up your recognition of characters is to read Chinese Manga's. there are plenty out there. I havent gotten a chance to ask a friend to get me manga next time he travels to Taiwan. Its like $2 our money for a book. or so. So cheap man..better than paying $9.99 for english ones. My friend says his little cousin who doesnt know chinese read manga for about 1 year and understood enough to start talking in mandarin because he explained the characters to her. I am sure you can find someone to help with that.

Convienient thing bout manga...you can carry it around with you and glance at it during your leasure time reading????.....I learn things increadibly fast, and i forget it pretty fast too......I dont know how it would work for you though. I do not know which is easier...learning the characters then talking or vise versa. I hope someone around on this site can point you to a place to get them. I am sorry I am no help.

True that..but its also divided in China as well. More people speak cantonese in the south part and you know the other.....even if the southern people can speak mandarin...their main dialect is cantonese. ....there is also a big issue as tradtitional and simplified Chinese....the traditional writings are taught in Hong Kong, I think, and away from the main cities in China...the rest are simplified writings.

The simplified is the latest version of chinese to get away from some of the character similarities of the Japanese characters. The japanese, I hear, are also modifying their characters..

So much hatered with northern china, southern china, and japan. and taiwan and HK.

Are you serious? Study a bit more about communism (or economics) before talking. If you're saying that communist works or that communism is a rational system, I could write a book disproving that. As for my comment, it was in reference to the strictness of the chinese government (according to other posters) of anime distribution.

WHEN DID I SAY THAT COMMUNISM WORKED? Who said democracy works? Who says communism works? ITS ALL OPINION. Besides right now China is more socialist than communist, China has free markets etc.

Ok I admit that maybe my comment was a bit off handed, but I get pissed at people acting like China form of government is inferior.

Oh and economy? U.S economy growing at 2-3% each year? China's economy what is it 9.9% I believe? (Anymore than 9.9% could lead to inflation). Sure China's economy has problems in it, but it doesn't mean it doesn't work.

oh and get off your high-chair, patronizing me like a little kid.

Asndrgn, I went to the southern part of China this summer and one of parents came from southern China, their main dialect is NOT cantonese but mandarin. Btw most people who can speak cantonese can also also fluently speak mandarin. And what hatred between north and south China?

Wow this is getting off topic.

there are Chinese animes, they're all crappy imo.

for languages... Hong kong speaks mostly Cantonese, China and Taiwan speaks mandarin, however, China writes in simplified chinese, taiwan and HK still uses traditional chinese. most of the Chinese movie DVD have english subs, so I assume it's the same for anime? not really sure.

there's no hated between North china and south china, some peoples I know stills hates Japan.

(manga are alot better though)

I hate China, I wish HK can somehow seperate away from China, since HK got returned, china have been leeching off it's economy.

yeah, so this is kinda a dumb thread..BUT! a commonly mistake
anime has been shortened from the early 80's...first it was Japanese animation, then Japanimation, then Japanime, then just anime. if it was chinese anime, it wouldnt be anime...just a chinese cartoon
