Filipino Discrimination.
Posted 8/24/08 , edited 8/24/08
Okay , there is alot of problems going around the United States , By 2 groups of filipinos.

The Filipino-Americans ( Can't speak Tagalog ) Aka Fil-Ams.
the Filipino-Tagalog speakers.

I can't speak Tagalog very well , but I'm learning but that's not the point.

The discrimination is Filipino Americans talk about Tagalog speaker's.
Of accent , Descent .

And Tagalog speaker's call , Filipino Americans , say you can not be filipino because your not even able to speak the lanugage calling it a discrimination.

Which is not the Fil-Am's fault , or the Tagalog speakers fault.

is it individual fault or the Filipino people collectively who aloud a American collective system , that bred poverty , self hate , migration.

What do you think about this?

Regardless.

Discrimination exists whether you are Filipino or any other race for that matter. It is an unavoidable and universal fact that some people would think they are superior.

And as for who to place the blame on, I'd say those who are plain ignorant and can't appreciate the uniqueness of a person's culture. Discriminating a person for reasons as shallow as you have stated is nothing short of ignorance.

It's not really discriminating , it's causing a great alienated idea into one culture.
for the plain and simple fact there the same thing , it is just that people have different reasons why both have flaws/quality's.

Bold: Isn't that what defines discrimination? The word "alienated" is enough to affirm that.

Red: Haven't you posted this topic as "Discriminating Filipinos"? Whether or not it happens in a single culture, it still is discrimination.

And why are you contradicting my post when clearly we have the same ideas in mind? You are confusing me both in grammar and how you place a debate over what I have previously posted.

I'm a Filipino American and I grew up with a lot of Tagalog speaking in my family and that's how I learn to understand Tagalog and I speak it but not fluently. I can say basic stuff but I sure damn can understand what they're saying.

So let me try this out and again I am Filipino American:

Maraming Filipino Americans hindi na itindi ang Tagalog at hindi magandang pag bawat isa kong hindi maronong magkausap Tagalog o itindi.

Grammar is bad but hey I tried. Anywho, I think it's funny that Mexican Americans know how to speak and understand their language than us Filipino Americans who don't know or much of how to speak and understand our language.

screw tagalogs, they think they are special but they are just shits. we in the southern parts of the country proves to be better people than them. their place is filled with gangsters, hookers, sluts and whores. the dirtiest and the most polluted part of the country. yeah right, the tagalogs can brag and brag, how shameless can these fools get.

Motherland tongue... Ha. I'm canadian, not an ounce of filipino in me, but I had lived in region 7 for about 2 years so I learned a little about filipino culture. In canada, our national languages are french (really it's not true french but quebecua) and english. I'm english speaking (my second language is cebuano) french isn't my tongue, nor the tongue of where I live. Tagalog is only the motherland tongue of luzon area and even then it's divers. It's ridiculous to ask the filipinoes who aren't tagalog decent to have pride in a language that isn't theirs. They have no ties to it. I like filipinoes, no matter what language they speak, but I prefer the non-tagalogs; one, I find non-tagalogs to be less arrogant than tagalog speaking philipinos and 2, I hate the accent of tagalogs. although, they're still better than the english and french speaking trash here.

its terrible. i may not be american nor from the north im from the south.. no-one can recognise me wth my dad, since he is english. but people only notice me when im wth my mum, who is filipino. i need to learn the language very badly and if i dont, i won't be able to talk to them. and i dont' want them to learn english. its not fair.

i like anyone, even if they're black, crippled and others. poor people. poor filipinos.. if you're discriminating a filipino and u have a friend who's one, then ur discriminating them!

Why there is discrimination among us?

Maybe other people are jealous with the Filipino's talent and skills.
Filipino's are talented right??
And nobody can beat us, for that is our trademark.

LOSERS!!
