Similarities between Alex and Shin Ae, Kim Jong Kook and Yoon Eun Hye pairing

If you didn’t know, romantic model couple Alex and Shin Ae will be departing MBC “We Got Married” variety show with their last appearance on 27th April.

You can’t deny that the interaction between Alex and Shin Ae are one of the most likely pairings to actually become a real couple off-screen. Starting with relatively awkwardness since they hardly knew each other, learning more about each other through missions, you would have felt that they might really be dating if you had followed their scenes from episode one. They just felt real.

The emergence of Alex and Shin Ae has led to them being compared with another couple that was linked together and widely speculated to be dating on-screen. That famous pairing is Yoon Eun Hye and Kim Jong Kook who had a dating relationship on the famous SBS variety show, “Xman” for almost a year. And they are still romantically linked with each other off-screen through various incidents. But of course, we are only speculating since it’s not official. But everyone thinks they are made for each other anyway.

Alex and Shin Ae couple continues to intrigue viewers

From it’s debut episode until now, MBC Sunday Sunday Night, “We Got Married” reality show has invoked many discussions among viewers and netizens.

In Episode 6 shown on 20th April, the mission was to create a meal box that symbolised love. Among the four make-believe newly-weds, the model romantic couple of Alex and Shin Ae who are widely loved by many female viewers decided on a sandwiches picnic as they set off to view cherry blossoms.

Viewers were intrigued to see Alex and Shin Ae preparing the sandwiches together and then singing along to the music being played, expressing their affections for each other. The lyrics that Alex sang included one line that said, “I just wanna kiss you.” After which, they took a slow leisurely walk along a street lined with cherry blossoms, playing around with each other mischieviously, taking pictures, showing how lovey-dovey they were.

There were news earlier that Alex and Shin Ae would be leaving the show because of the need to record his solo album. The production expressed that no decision has been made yet, leaving the media and viewers guessing.

Romance might not be your cup of tea and they might seem boring to most looking for laughter. But ultimately, it’s every woman’s fantasy or dream to find a guy like Alex and Alex and Shin Ae makes that come true on screen. I really hate it when people labels them boring every now and then.

The book that Alex gave ShinAe “사랑해,사랑해,사랑해” is originally called “I Love You Through and Through” by Bernadette Rossetti Shustak, it’s really an adorable book to read for a child (my nephew has his and he loves it!)..I was a bit freaked out when I saw the book on the show cuz it looked familiar to me and then a few seconds later I knew for sure which book it was..apparently the sales number for it have increased in S.Korea after it appeared on the show cuz now even lovers are buying it, not just the parents.

Alex tells Shin Ae to wait for him…

The inevitable truth has finally happened, Alex and Shin Ae couple are officially off the screen following Episode 8 of MBC “We Got Married” shown today.

Eighteen news articles about Alex and Shin Ae leaving the show has surfaced in the aftermath of today’s episode and this must really been an indication of how much they have bought to the program on the whole. Whether you like them or dislike them, they were very much the epitome of a model romantic couple.

With Shin Ae the only one not knowing a thing about him leaving the show, Alex brings her to the recording studio upon her request. They play the piano together which was really sweet. Then they proceeded to sing a duet with Alex prompting Shin Ae who was apprehensive but did it with his encouragement.

With Shin Ae in the control room, Alex proceeds to sing Flowerpot by Loveholic as a farewell song. Didn’t fancy this song very much initially but now I do and will remember Alex and Shin Ae when I listen to this. The lyrics just describes them perfectly. After the song, Alex asks Shin Ae to pick up a heart-shaped flowerpot with her expecting some sort of romantic surprise to follow. But he drops a bombshell saying that he has to leave the show and tells her to take good care of the potted plant and wait for his return. Shin Ae turned from being surprised to almost tearing state but she managed to hold it in. They ended with a warm embrace although you feel for Shin Ae who has to endure another “break-up”.

To sum it up, it has been a wonderful experience watching Alex and Shin Ae on-screen and no matter what happens in future, hope that they will remain in contact with each other. Do hope that they come back in future if possible.

Alex and Shin Ae departs We Got Married

Romantic couple Alex and Shin Ae became the first couple to leave MBC reality variety show, “We Got Married” following last evening’s broadcast.

Towards the end of yesterday’s broadcast, Alex had to break the truth to Shin Ae about him leaving the program with much difficulty. This was after he sang and dedicated the song “Flowerpot” to Shin Ae as he expressed, “Oppa has to leave for the time being. Thus today is the last time I will be on the show.”

Alex also made an analogy as he confessed..

"The reason why spring flowers are so beautiful is that it comes with such a force and lets people enjoy the briefness of their beauty and with the promise of it’s return the next year, and then they leave."

He continued..

"Today’s feeling of happiness is not one to end after this day ends."

Faced with the news that Alex is leaving straight from his mouth, Shin Ae couldn’t hold it in and teared after realizing that it was the truth.

Alex had to leave “We Got Married” plus other programs where he was a permanent fixture to prepare for his solo album scheduled for release in June. His departure also meant that Shin Ae had to leave the show as well.

Kim Hyun Joong (SS501) and Hwang Bo will be their replacements starting from next week episode and will act out a older woman-younger man relationship.

It’s nice to see them taking a different approach since I really can’t see anyone coming close to what Alex and Shin Ae bought to the show. Plus it leaves the possibility of seeing them back on the show in future. Will miss them.

Shin Ae not coming back to We Got Married?

News was mooted earlier about Alex and Shin Ae coming back on 8th June. Well, that has been temporarily shelved now. Although Alex has said that he is available to come back following the completion of his album production, it appears that it’s Shin Ae now who has problems returning.

Shin Ae expressed that she really enjoyed being on ”We Got Married”. She gave her thoughts on their much talked about romantic pairing.

This program has been the only one that has managed to get me really emotional with regards to my feelings. Although I have left the program, but viewers have been constantly asking for my return, so there’s a possibility of me coming back.

Shin Ae’s management has stated that it would be difficult now as she is focusing on her acting career and anything else including “We Got Married” is of lesser priority unless it can fit it with her schedule. She has apparently been casted for an unnamed drama scheduled for the latter part of 2008. Besides that, she has also received movie and CF offers adding to the difficulty.

Alex wants to redeem himself following that rather tearful “termination” while Shin Ae is probably hurting from the fact that she was the last one to know about his departure. But will Alex get the chance you wonder? It looks like Shin Ae aren’t bearing any grudges judging from her words above.

Nevertheless, the three parties are still involved in negotiations and we should keep our fingers crossed and hope for the best if you love the couple. But whatever decision is made in the end, we can do nothing really but just accept it and move along. The haters would probably be jumping in joy at this.

Alex and Shin Ae confirms their return to We Got Married

After all the hoo-ha of are they coming back being played out over the past few days, the romantic couple comprising of Alex Chu and Shin Ae has confirmed their return to MBC star wedding variety “We Got Married”.

Alex who had no choice but to leave the show last month to record his solo album filmed their reunion scene two days earlier on 26th May in Namsan, Seoul. Fans had been clamouring for their return since they left the show with netizens constantly posting messages on the official site message board saying, “Please come back to the show”. Their return had been highly anticipated since then with negotiations taking place between their management and MBC.

Alex and Shin Ae Namsan reunion scene will be broadcast on 8th June (two weeks time) and it will be interesting to see how the PDs fit them into the show which is pretty congested with four couples right now.

Alex Startling Confession, “When I made my solo album, it became a story about Shin Ae"

“AlShin Couple” romance once again brought “pink romance” to the studio.

Alex who is coming back to MBC Sunday Sunday Night “We Got Married” after a month absence confessed during the 3rd June taping at Gyeonggi-do, Ilsan, MBC Dream Center that his heart for Shin Ae hasn’t changed at all.

Alex whose first solo album is coming out on the 11th revealed that during the album preparation, the songs became stories about Shin Ae. This caused excitement amongst the other celebrities and production staff.

At the recording site, MC Lee Hyuk Jae asked, “I am curious about something” upon seeing “Al-Shin couple”. He asked, “You must’ve been busy because of your solo album. During your album preparation while writing the songs, did you ever think of Shin Ae?”. Alex shyly admitted “After I wrote the music/lyrics, they came to be about Shin Ae”. (The lyrics reminded him of Shin Ae)

The others asked Alex, “Then in the next episode, are you going to sing a song?”, Alex answered with a mysterious laughter, “It’s a secret”.

During his time at “We Got Married”, Alex has serenaded songs to Shin Ae and gained popularity as the “Romance Groom”. His “Flower Pot”, “Only You” (note: He has never sung this song – a mistake in the article), “Like A Child” have been warmly received by the netizens. His solo album “My Vintage Romance” includes the ballad title song “If You” as well as “Sorry For Making You Wait”, “Lover”, “Love”, “Cheerful Day”.

One of the broadcasting people said, “Alex has prepared a secret surprise event for Shin Ae who has waited for him. We have finished recording this and we will show this to the public in mid-June.” In the meantime, MBC Dramanet has prepared an “Alex/Shin Ae Special Episode” on the 7th for their comeback.

Alex, “Shin Ae is one of the biggest joys of my life”

Alex who is enjoying high popularity on MBC “We Got Married” expressed that his partner, Shin Ae is someone who brings great joy to his life.



In MNet’s cable tv program “Ma’am B Salon” yesterday, Alex appeared as a guest and during the interview with host, Kim Yoon Ah which revolved “the oasis of my life” topic, he expressed his admiration for Shin Ae.

If there were 10 oasis, one of them would include Shin Ae because she is someone who brings joy to my life every two weeks.

He also made an analogy about his stance towards love

Most men think that they possess a girl, but actually they possess only the girl’s palm. So they are like moving within girl’s palm. I’m also one of them. I’m not a playboy like what everyone thinks and I am actually very innocent when it comes to love.

Alex and Shin Ae still affectionate even after the cameras have stopped rolling

MBC Sunday Sunday Night “We Got Married” perfect man perfect woman couple Alex and Shin Ae are affectionate in real life, not just on TV. It was observed that they really bring a warm feeling to people’s heart.



This observation came from the photographer who was in charge of Alex and Shin Ae’s “We Got Married” wedding photoshoot which will be shown this Sunday. The photographer wrote this observation on his own minihompy and since then, it has been the topic that Alex and Shin Ae fans talk about.

This photographer said

"They are different from what they are on TV and seemed close with one another. They aren’t awkward and look compatible. Shin Ae is good at posing, a definite pro. Alex has a good personality."

He also said..

"It was a whole day photo shoot but (they) were happy the whole time. Alex was really affectionate towards Shin Ae…. even after the TV cameras stopped rolling. He made the whole photoshoot atmosphere fun. (He) has a good personality/character.”

He also added, “It was absolutely not scripted at all…it was true reality.”

Alex and Shin Ae had left the program earlier because the earlier had to prepare for his solo album. They were reunited one month later on the June 8th episode where they’ve gained popularity once again.

Fans Outraged at Alex & Shin Ae We Got Married Editing

No wonder there seems to be something missing since Alex and Shin Ae returned to the show. The PDs are the cause of this.

I am still doing the cuts by the way but just doing it at my comfortable pacing. I considered just doing the Anbi cut only but decided not to. Patience.

There has been chaos in the forums of current hit Korean reality show, We Got Married, due to the cuts of Alex&Shin Ae as it was leaked by an inside source that all progress and intimate scenes of the couple were being edited out by the production company to project an “awkward” concept between them.

According to the article, there have been days when the couple stayed up all day laughing and having fun with each other until the wee hours but yet the production team never showed that side of the couple and is apparently trying to work up some “one sided love” and “awkward” concept between the two, stirring up impatience among the viewers.

Recently at a “wedding photoshoot” on the 100th day, it was mentioned on the private Cyworld of the photographer that Alex and Shin Ae spent the whole day taking pictures and there was even a “kiss” scene. Filming lasted till the wee hours but the couple’s cuts only made it to 7 minutes of the approximately 70-80 minutes program out of 4 couples. Without the kiss scene.

It’s also mentioned by an inside source that, out of 3 couples, Alex-Shin Ae couple were the only couple whose’ wedding pictures weren’t reviewed in public, unlike remaining couples, although there was apparently a scene where the couple looked at the printed album together. Which was, by the way, sweet and tenderhearted to watch. That didn’t make the cut either.

Fans are outraged at the state of film edits and the forums have been in chaos in recent weeks as the “Romantic” couple of the program is getting much less airtime if compared to every episode. The other couples are getting too much airtime if compared to AlShin and fans hope that the production team would even out the airtime for all couples.

Alex-Shin Ae couple were brought back by demand after Alex had to leave the program to concentrate on his first solo album but fans are disappointed because they don’t seem to have enough airtime anymore and important scenes are being severely edited out, causing misjudgment within viewers regarding Alex and Shin Ae.

Photographer Park Noh Bum has once again endeared himself to AlShin fans around the globe after he posted yet another never-seen-before photo of Alex and Shin Ae from their 100th Day wedding photoshoot. (lovely isn’t it?)



Many people talked about AlShin kiss scene and many tried to hide the kiss scene. AlShin fans requested Mr. Photographer to help reveal the truth at his minihomphy. But at that time, there were still some problems about the photo disclosure so he did not do that. Now it’s not a problem anymore so he posted it up suddenly to clarify that the kissing scene does indeed exist ^^

Make-believe Couples in We Got Married Gets Parenting Mission

It had already been leaked before that they might add children into the mix for MBC star wedding variety “We Got Married”, well it has apparently come true. Filming for the make-believe parenting mission was done last week.

We Got Married Gets A Parenting Upgrade

According to someone from the “We Got Married” production team

"Crown J and Seo In Young filmed their make-believe one-day parenting mission last week. Crown J was totally kept in the dark about the mission until filming started. He was pretty surprised when he realized it. Alex and Shin Ae also had the same reaction as him as they only knew after they started filming."



This was a collaboration between the Health and Welfare Family Department and “We Got Married” producers where the earlier had suggested inserting the children concept into the program to encourage childbirth. Finally after some discussions, they decided on the one-day parenting mission.
