“I want to see you…”



The word “보고 싶다” literally means “I want to see you”, but sometimes it can be interpret as “I miss you, I want to see you” in a romantic way. Big thanks shoutout to dear koalabear for letting me know about the article *hugs* I’ve been busy with other stuffs today, and wouldn’t see this article until maybe tomorrow if you haven’t pointed out :)

I love that picture Shinae recently posted in her minihompy/blog. I guess the grieving period isn’t really over yet, no matter how many days and weeks have gone by. Poor Shinae… hope she’ll stay strong and be around other people who love and cherish her *cough Alex cough*

Best actress Shinae has showed her longing for Choi Jin Shil.

On November 16, Shinae updated her minihompy with a picture of her and Choi Jin Shil under her profile (top left corner). She wrote, “Regret. I regret it myself…. what’s wrong with regret? it’s a stupid thing. I’m more than an idiot. But my sister is stupid. I want to see you, Unni. I love you, my dear Unni.” Shinae wrote all those to her heart content, and she finally did it. Other netizens who wrote these writings replied back to encourage her, saying “Way to go, Shinae…”

Alex’s “Bad Guy” challenge

Alex joins the “Bad Guy” group

(I’m so lol-ing at the news article. Definitely following the crowd with this ‘bad boy’ image. Whose first? Jihoonie (Bi) ? or Minu first? I think Minu first, then Son Ho Young has a bit of that bad boy image too, and now it’s Alex’s turn :P)

The “Romantic Guy” Alex now has turned into the “Tough Guy” image with his newest single, ‘나쁜짓” (Bad). The ‘Bad’ song has been announced to be scheduled for release on the 24th (4 more days, or 3 more days for some of you.) It’ll be released as a digital single, but today, its 45-secs teaser has been officially unleashed to the public.

Alex’s sweet voice who previously produced sweet and romantic songs, has turned 180 degrees into another venture. (Maybe the man wants to ‘get rid’ of that sweet and romantic guy, now that he’s out of the loop already. I think.) His sweet voice will turn into a tough-guy, rough image with “Bad”. The music video, as you can see above, for a 45-secs kinda left me with, “HUH?” impression, but I would definitely wait till the full version is released on Monday.

What do you think of the song so far?
I like it… I think.. -_- but yet again, it’s probably better to hear the whole song without watching the MV, as sometimes Korean MVs can really ‘ruin’ it for me :P

Han Ji Min & Alex, rumored dating



OMG, what a ridiculous rumor!

Sigh, I don’t know if I should laugh or cry, lol, but seriously? What the heck?
Let’s blame the Korean media for the misinterpretation and lack of judgment. If anything they should go stalk Shinae instead! or Horan! Gah~!

Both Alex & Han Ji Min’s side have denied this absurd rumor!

Singer Alex and actress Han Ji Min were rumored to be dating, based on a few news articles that wrote about them. Some Korean news mentioned that they got acquainted when Han Ji Min were still filming “Yi San” (whaaaat?), and that Alex visited her on the set. (So not true, by the way). And that they have been ‘in love’ secretly (while WGM was still running and all that? WTH, seriously? lol, goshhhh really. At first I really don’t want to write about this silly rumor, but the truth must be out. Someone please sue whoever started the rumor first! ㅋㅋㅋ )

Alex and Ha Ji Min met each other ONCE at Han Ji Min’s sister’s wedding, but they haven’t met again ever since. (If I remember what I read correctly, Alex happened to be there and sang at the wedding - BUT it was requested by the TV station. *huh? TV station? I don’t get it either ㅋㅋㅋ but who can’t resist Alex’s charming voice.. hehhehheh…*) Though someone from “Yi San” cast introduced the both of them, Alex and Han Ji Min are not romantically acquainted, nor they are dating each other. (Funny how people can make conclusion that they both bought the same car, etc… etc… tsk tsk. Really. If I can request the Korean media, please go after Shinae and stalk if Alex has been visiting her on the set of Empress Cheon Chu please! LOL)

Oh, and also, there is this news that said, Han Ji Min visited Alex on the set of WGM. Tsk tsk tsk tsk tsk. “The media reported that Han Ji Min was found on the set of “WGM”, and Han Ji Min’s side said that she doesn’t even know the location of the set.” Kekeke…

(OK, I better stop here… this kind of news is not good for my health. LOL. Geez, I wonder how Shinae must’ve felt about all this. Alex probably texted her already, or they both have some sort of agreements not to believe the media teeheehee… Gosh, poor Alex! and Han Ji Min too! Stoopid media~ *glare*)

One Saturday afternoon with Alex



I was browsing through, and happened to find this recent news on the “People” section of dongA.com
Quite a length one, and some of the questions are not really as ‘new’ as I expect them to be. (Like for example, there’s NO mention of his WGM partner *cough-Shinae-cough*, and it seems to be quite a cozy, relaxing ‘the after “We Got Married” Romantic Guy Alex’ interview, which is cool with me ;)

Good to know that he has a bit of free time between now and next month when he has to prepare the end of the year concert with Lena Park.

One Saturday afternoon meeting, Alex arrived at Dong-A Media Center where the interview is being held. Wearing a comfy white T-shirt and black jacket, fully suave-look, kinda different than the “alseobang” (son-in-law Alex) like you see on TV… appealing a little more calm than he usually appears to be.

Alex. He’s 2008’s most romantic guy.

Recently ended the show on MBC “We Got Married”, appearing as the virtual married-couple with actress Shinae, romantic guy Alex often cooked for his wife, sang her songs and giving a variety of surprise events for his beloved wife such as washing feet. Not only Alex met and performed every woman’s dream to be swept off, he pretty much was every man’s nightmare.

Alex is the real leisure, just like how he appeared to be a ’sweet leisure’ (companion) to be around with. Dong-A Daily weekend corner’s “Margins of my life” invited him to be on the spot this time.

* The everyday life

Alex: “Actually, this interview makes it a bit different this time. Usually on a Saturday afternoon, it’s a great excuse to escape from the crowds, catching up on some newspaper reading. But today, I can’t do that.”

“I work from Monday to Sunday. How in the world could I not have any schedule for the day where I can ask myself, “what shall I do today”? But I love my life…”

Alex doesn’t fall asleep until late, as he’s often found alone having one or two bottles of soju near the pojangmacha (foodstall) near his apartment.

* The cooking life-style

The real Alex ‘alseobang’ likes to eat as well as he seems to be a great cook.

Alex: “Cooking? It can’t absolutely be done in my spare time (he was pretty serious when he said this). I don’t want to cook if I have to eat alone. For how long did I say I don’t have a rice-cooker until I had to do this rice-cooker CF? (laughs) And yes, it’s correct, I often eat ’sundae-gguk’ in the morning at this place around the neighborhood. If I have a girlfriend, I would rather have a ramen, more a French cuisine. Ramen is more delicious!” (What a true Korean man haha)

If you have a girlfriend, Alex? but since 3 years ago, he is still a single guy.

“I’m enjoy watching people ever since I was in Canada. I had this part-time job at a coffee shop around Robson Street in Vancouver… around closing hours, with a cup of coffee, I sat down (Alex suddenly stood up and did the gestures), and looking at people passing by. If there were some homeless people approaching from around the streets, I think I can have all sorts of dialogues with them…”

* When you get a chance to ride on a bike once a week?

These days, Alex enjoys his early morning ride on his own custom-made bike, carrying a camera… heading to Myeong-dong, the head of Dongho bridge. He has this Canon 5D DSLR digital camera since 2005 where he is still using until now to take great pictures. With his photography skills, a cooking and recipe book can easily be produced.

Alex: “Upon arriving at the bridge, I set up the camera tripod… listening to the MP3 player, and enjoying the view, or smoke cigarettes, I observe people surrounding, and wonder around, ‘oh, why is that man walking alone by himself at this hour, why… when he could’ve gone home…’ stuffs like that can occupied the mind with its own thoughts…”

Alex’s concert is scheduled for next month, but I know he will be all right.
Life is waiting to give him more spare time, just because.

(Phew. Quite an interesting read, indeed. This is a rough draft of the interview, which is written from the interviewer’s point of view. But since I do like the writer’s style and format, it seems like there’s no hidden agenda behind the interview. No pressure, just like a simple blog interview on a cozy Saturday afternoon with Alex and his beloved camera. Hehe. I had this smile when I first saw his pictures *above* He’s still wearing the glasses and keeping the same ‘geeky-look on him, especially when we, Alshinners know how much he lovesssss Shinae’s compliments about wearing the glasses. HAHA. Shinae: “Oppa, you look great with glasses. Should wear them more often!” Alex: “OK, OK…” Gosh I miss them! This weekend will be the 2nd week without AlShin on WGM… )

Alex & Lee Hyun Woo on the new SBS food program



Woooooot! Alex’s newest project for Mid-December! Isn’t this exciting??? Who’s excited?! I AM! LOL!~
Gosh, whatta news~~ coz of course, any TV program featuring Alex, count me in HAHAHA.

This is so fresh from the news, so hopefully we’ll find out more about this new food program from SBS (they still haven’t decided on the name of the program yet.) But I’m so ecstatic now~~~
Chef Alex will be back in action, gals! Woot wooot~~


Lee Hyun Woo & Alex “손맛 보라” Food Fight

Singer & Actor Lee Hyun Woo and Alex have been picked as co-MC as chefs for SBS new food program.

In mid-December, the two men will be shown as co-MC for this new food program. They will cook different dishes to be presented in the program. SBS has this program 결정 맛대맛 which was abolished November last year, and now, a year after, looks like they’re trying to revive this food program and so Lee Hyun Woo & Alex have been casted together.

SBS says that “Lee Hyun Woo and Alex have been practicing their cooking skills. And now that Lee is married, his cooking skills will be put to test with Alex’s well-known cooking skills. They both will be a great match as co-MC.”

Before his debut as a singer, Alex worked as a chef for about 2 years, and he also participated in KBS2 “Vitamin”, where he presented healthy dishes for the viewers. And Lee Hyun Woo has made this “이현우의 싱들을 위한 이지쿠킹” (I think it meant to say, “Lee Hyun Woo’s Cooking For Singles” but they made a typo), which is his cookbook back in 2001.

The first broadcast will be on Wednesday, December 19. (I think the title will be SBS ‘TV 진수성찬, 맛있다’ according to this news)

Can’t wait to see this program! Alex has always been great in cooking, so I’m totally happy to see Chef Alex back on small screen =) and Lee Hyun Woo, never knew he had it in him, though in “Wedding”, they kinda showed his cooking skills a bit through one of the scenes, if I had remembered it correctly.

Note:
I’m not sure how to translate “손맛 보라” , but my friend said that 손맛 is the taste that comes only when you make with your hands, usually means cooking w/ hands to mix things or stuff instead of spoons or gloves. And 보라 means ’see’ or ‘look’. But hopefully you’ll get the idea ㅋㅋㅋ and surely soon we’ll find out more about this program if SBS is planning to air it mid of December :)

Wedding Bells for Shin Ae?

Looks like former We Got Married star Shin Ae will be getting married for reals this year. Currently, she is dating an exchange student who is studying abroad in Seattle (USA) and they are making plans to get married possibly as early as May or June of this year.
