Not even slightly. The fact is, many such persons don't want to be treated differently, so a person doing so just makes everyone feel bad.

If i hear a story about somebody who had an accident and lost a limb, about the best I can manage is a tiny trickle of pity for about a second, then a shrug. Of course, if I hear the story of a person losing a limb to save another person, I feel admiration instead of pity, but for about as long.

Truth to tell, the only time I even really pay attention to it, is when it's brought up in conversation or right in my face, at other times, it's simply another human condition, nothing I can do about it, so not worth dwelling on.

I see to it like they're normal. It's not pity. It's self respect and honesty.

But srsly, lol, I remember the Disabled People Olympics on Family Guy. It's so much full of lulz.

I don't pity them. I view them the same as everyone else. Everybody has their own set of problems to deal with. If I see someone a drift in an ocean of self pity, whether they be healthy, differently abled, seconds away from death, whatever, etc - I will slap them back onto the boat of intelligence.

I like that that's a nice way of thinking about it

so your god made people suffer to show healthy people (i can't belive you reffered to healthy people as "normal" that's kinda rude) that they should be thankful there life isn't ruined or less privilledged like that and to make them feel better wow......................your god seems very nice (plz excuse me for being a jack ass i just couldn't help it)

any way...........i can't even remember the last time ive even seen a diferently abled person

So, if you're disabled you're not "normal"? And your God makes people suffer so that other people can feel better? How does he choose who gets to feel better and who has to be disabled? Either way thats a fucked up way of looking at things.

I read this aloud to my sister, and she says, "Fuck your God then. I don't need a God who did this to me on purpose just so that it can make some other asshole feel 'normal.' What did I ever do in my short 13 years that he decided that I wasn't good enough to be 'normal' and that my only purpose was to make others feel 'lucky?' Fuck that and fuck you."

My mom is physically handicapped, she's different, but she's pretty close to everybody else.
Don't feel so bad for them, they're not sob stories... They can be bitchy, and stupid just like everybody else.
Of course you'd have to give them "some" special treatment, but not act nice to them just because they're handicapped. If somebody in a wheelchair is so bitchy, and is asking for a slap, slap that mother fucker... Maybe not, people will jump on the "OMG THAT PERSON IS HANDICAPPED, HE'S A LIVING SOB STORY" bus, and jump on you. :-/
