'Trust me you look like a moron doing it.. so stop!'

No I don't!!!

I speak Japanese to my friends who are from Japan! I speak English because I am living in a English speaking country. Mixing my Japanese and English together is not cool, its pathetic! It is something a half wit dolt would do.

I do at times but only when I'm in my own home with people who do the same thing ... It can be fun as long as the other person knows what your saying, otherwise entire conversations would comprise of:

"[insert random Japanese here]"
"What does that mean?"

- Not so fun

I usually only speak Japanese to myself, if ever. Other than that, I will sometimes say a phrase in Japanese (ones that I hear often) or add an honorific to a friends name as a joke.

Yes, but only to myself or around my friends who understand me.

I learned long ago that if you do this in front of people who don't really know you, you look like an idiot.

Me and a colleague are always talking japanese to each other.
We're both learning, and use every chance we have to improve our skills ;)

Most people just think we're stupid

Hell no.
I'm fluent in ENGLISH, so I'll stick to ENGLISH.

Now if I were actually fluent in Japanese, I might accidentally say a few things,
like how Chinese people say "Aiya!"

This made me laugh.

But, no, I don't. Only if I'm talking about something Japanese (like with Japanese foods or something), or if I'm trying to practice Japanese (which I generally do in my own home by myself). Although sometimes I think in a mixture of Japanese, Chinese, French, and English, but that's not of my own free will. It just happens.

Im glad it made you laugh. It did the same thing for me. ^^

Yea, same thing for me. i only talk in Japanese about food or their merchandise.
I don't go around saying "desu desu" or "Kawaii!" randomly. One of my enemy does that a lot!
She learns a new word and then shows it off to me by saying it all day long. >__<
