Do you like the Wii?
Posted 9/6/08
Oh, I love my Wii. But nowadays I rarely play it. Maybe I'll go online on it, but that's about it for me. I'm waiting to play(like Fatal Frame 4, and possibly Beyond Good & Evil 2). Then maybe I'll get back into playing it. :]

I think the motion sensitivity was over-hyped and they have a LOT of bad/mediocre games. Also a bunch of their best games are available on other systems. I still like it though.

It's not overhyped, just under exploited.

Well...isn't 1:1 motion impossible? I think everybody was expecting it to be exactly like swinging a sword or whatever. No more heroes is a good example of under exploited use...

Im also not thrilled with how much a wiimote+nunchucks costs, and then you are going to make me pay for a classic controller so I can play downloaded games that I payed for that don't support remotechucks or gamecube controllers, you jerks.

1:1 motion is coming on the Wii dude with Wii motion plus..., you only need one classic controler, and nunchuck + wiimote cost about as much as every other control for every other system (maybe 10 bucks more) but then other systems GAMES (which you will be buying more of) cost 10/20 bucks more.

Also, No More Heroes was perfect in the sense that Suda51 realized if you flail your arms around for a long period of time like a epileptic kid and call it swinging a sword, you get tired. So he used buttons with the finishing the only time you moved the Wii mote, he was smart. Honestly if you think it would be fun to have a 1:1 sword game I want you to pick up a broom and start swinging it around for 6 hours. Tell me how much fun you had with your sore as hell arm. People think they want something, but the reason your not getting it is because it sucks balls and would be a waste of the company's money making it.

Well, where I live remotes are like 50 bucks and nunchucks are 40, whereas a wired 360 controller is like 50 and wireless 60.

Zelda had good swordplay, I didn't get tired, if a wii game makes you break a sweat you are in pretty awful shape. Obviously if you are going to be a spastic epileptic kid who smashes tvs with the remote 6 hours of no more heros will tire you out even though you're pressing A all day. No more heroes was perfect in the sense that it can hide its flaws by being "ironic" and anybody who doesn't like it just "doesn't get it"

Eh, not where I live dude.

I don't think you understand the concept of 1:1. Zelda was no where near 1:1, it was general motions. Move your hand this way, even slightly, and link will go full swing. 1:1 would mean unless you SWING the Wii Mote exactly like you would a sword, it won't move right. Also, in Twilight Princess you could flick your wrist, in 1:1 movement, a flick of the wrist is just that, a flick of the wrist, to actually fight you would have to move your entire arm, in the exact motion you want to see on screen. If you think that's just easy and fun to do for long periods of time, then you OBVIOUSLY have never done any type of martial arts. Do you know what dudes who swing swords for 6 hours a day look like? Once again, pick up a broom and swing it like a sword for 6 hours and that's about how a 1:1 Wii Mote sword game would be.

I never said zelda was 1:1, I didn't even know they were planning a 1:1 thing until you mentioned it.
I said it had good swordplay, better than no more heros, IMO. I never even said I wanted No more heroes to have 1:1 swordplay, I said the motion sensitivity was underexploited. I certainly didn't say waving a broom for 6 hours is easy...Anyway you're not "supposed" to play games for more than a couple of hours without taking a break, but who the hell cares?

I'd like to point out that brooms are a bit heavier than a wii mote
But ya, my arms been sore before from too much wii tennis when i first played it.( i actually swung my arm )

Lol, but still, its a general idea. It's better then me telling you to go wave your amrs for 6 hours pretending your holding a sword

I like the Wii. At least kids are now "actively" playing video games rather than "passively" playing.. right? It won't really help them get in shape (i.e Playing actual baseball/tennis outside is obviously more beneficial than "virtual" baseball/tennis), but at least they're now engaging the game instead of just sitting on the couch like some mindless drone.. no?

The PS3 will always be at the bottom end it costs way too much, unless it gets cheap to produce blu-ray or if Sony gets smart and releases a PS3 without the blu ray adaptation it wont beat the Wii or the 360.

Also the most anticipated game for me right now on my wii is the new Star Wars Force unleashed I wanna see if Lucas Arts allows the character to do almost any type of swing move possible.

I like my wii i really dont care for the online bit because I have a PC for that, I really hate the idea of getting flamed by 12 year olds when i make a dumb mistake on halo (reason why i stopped going online on my 360)

Right now alot of "3rd party games" for the wii are coming out but look at it this way, its all about testing how far the possibilities the wii remote has to offer if Star Wars force Unleashed does well and gets rave reviews, look forward to better games for the Wii because if that game shows the unlimited potential for the Wii it will be a dead heat for the 1st spot while the people of Sony will wonder where the heck they went wrong with their PS3 overpriced phenom.

LOL my fav out of the three is Wii because one, it caters more to family-like games like mario party compared to PS3 and XBox360 which are more hardcore and two, my favourite series and games are all on Wii
