okay the dude didn't want to pay child support do you guys know how exspensive that is, especially in early years babies are not cheap you must spend a hell lot of money to support um i mean sometimes couples spends tens of thousands of dollars on just diapers and then there's every thing else you gotta take care of, anyway there his children as much as they are her's he has half the right to decide if they get taken away or not

I am 100% sure i am gonna get tons of hat mail and reply for this, but this is my point of view as a man, and thinking another point of view also:

so what about the right of the father to have the baby, when the woman decides to have a aborton without father's consent? you have to understad, yes he was a prick when he cheated on her, when she had her cancer treatment. nobody took her right to be a mother, she could have had the baby before she underwent the treatment, or even before that. the father didnt want to do anything associated with his ex-wife, and didnt want to have a baby with her, thats the issue, not her right as a mother.

not to say she was abusive or was mean to him, but an example:
What would you say when your old ex, who you really hate was abusive, drunk unemployed, and /or is drug user came to you and said " I want to have a baby with you using my frozen sperm i stored, because I cant have sex anymore" what would you do? ould you laugh at him and tell him to F off? and what would you do if he decides to sue you? most girls here are screaming woman's right as a mother and such...but what about man's right not to have a baby with the person who we dont like?

also you are saying that man could have made clear that he will not pay any support to her....but come on, be realistic, after the baby is born you know the mother will go after the father for supportnd money, and the court of law will go after the man also.

Ignoring the fact hat the guy is a dick for cheating on his wife... I'd have to say its a tough call either way. Having the responsibility of providing for a kid placed upon you against your will, is just as bad.

My question would be did the eggs have to be fertilized before they were frozen to begin with ? Since that probably would have been the better option in the beginning if they weren't.

In this case, I'd have to say that if they are going to place that kind of responsibility on the man regardless of his own decision then he should have just as much say in the matter as the woman. So, I can understand why the guy won the case but I still think its a messed up situation to be in.

Well... guys don't spam.

I mean the couple got divorced. Why would she want to keep the babies afterwards. Does she want them not living with a father? Since she'll be single she'll have to work and leave her kids in a daycare. And trust me : MOST KIDS WHO ALWAYS GO TO DAYCARE NEVER GET A GOOD EDUCATION. Unless she gets another mate. I agree with the dude but I don't share the same point of view.

Then again... *Language warning* ITS HER FUCKING EGGS SO SHE MAKES THE FUCKING DECISION.

I don't agree with the man's point of view but the court made the right decision.

the guy's an effin prick..
Posted 8/26/08
That case really depended on the courts moral values, but I can see where they are coming from that the eggs were fertilised by both and it is a human right to not want them fertilised but I dont think that the case was totally based on not paying child support as court fees alone for that case would have paid for child support alone.
It is a complex case, but really the woman should not have had her eggs fertilised she should have the Eggs alone frozen.
Though saying that, he was a cold hearted man to deny his ex wife that. He could have allowed her the right to have kids and let him have nothing to do with them.

sad..but hey, you can't push that guy to do it~
besides does a woman want children by a guy who doesn't wants to give his sperm?

When I read the first post of this thread, I was for the woman because it's her body and embryos. But after reading the article, I'd say it's...fair, I suppose. She can still become a mother by adopting kids, it's not the end of the world. Does it really matter so much if the adopted child is not biological, just as long as you love him/her as much as you would have if it's your biological kid?

Though I would side with Ms. Evans if she had said that she would not demand child support or contact (as a father) from Mr. Johnston, since that's the reason why he wanted the embryos destroyed.
