Hahaha i never took this into consideration before.! The males in Shoujo do have boxy bodies & their faces are very "V" shaped . But some shoujo manga artists like Arina Tanemura ,who created "The Gentlemen's Alliance Cross" & " Fullmoon Sagashite", have amazing art skills .

HELL NO
Try drawing even just 1 page of a comic yourself, and learn exactly how hard it is to keep a character consistent, and at the same time, moving around and expressive.
I don't care what style it's drawn in, unless the character's whole body is warping and his skeletal system is falling apart, the art is good.

For me a lot of them are,but that's mostly the older ones. But I think a lot of newer ones are really very beautifully drawn.

I think that some shoujo manga artwork such as skip beat is less that stellar. but, thier are some like sukiitte ii n yo an tonari no kaibutsu-kun that are drawn nicely.

It's a completely different style, I'd say there are just as many poorly drawn Shounen as there are Shoujo, however I do like the Shounen art style more, so I do get a feel that it does generally look better. Still, you can't say that Shoujo as a whole is badly drawn, it's just the style that is less appealing to a lot of people.

I dont think its a case of drawn badly. i think its more the style of the drawings that i dont really like. characters who have huge eyes and physiques like pipe cleaners, chins that could take your eye out and appendages that are so long everyone looks about 10 feet tall. I know this is not really related to shojo manga but because of the similarities in character design i really struggled to watch code geass.

To be honest, I can't hate a style since it's drawn the way the manga-ka draws it and I accept that.

It's not terrible at all. It all depends on what year did the manga start, the artist, etc. I read a whole bunch of shojo manga and I don't hate a manga based on artwork.
