depends on the shoujo. Maybe you're comparing it to shounen? Because then it's not so much a matter of the talent behind the drawing, but rather the style... the genres are certainly drawn very differently. Additionally, many shoujo are based more on giving the readers "doki-doki" feelings rather than attempting to awe them with clean, detailed art.

it's a matter of taste ofc and also the artists him/herself...

That's a pretty shitty generalization if you ask me. Some are nicely drawn, some aren't. Depends on who's looking at it. Same goes for any genre of manga....

No. If you know where to look, who's work to search for, and are able to track your art/story preferences... You'll find plenty of talented artists in any genre.

Rather than the drawings being good or bad, most shoujo manga I've seen tend to look too much alike on average.

I don't really like the style of most shoujos. Not saying they're bad, but it just ain't my thing. People tend to have freakishly huge, shiny eyes and anorexically thin, wiry bodies. At least, the dudes do. It's weird.

I haven't read a lot of shoujo, though, so your mileage may vary. I'm sure there are some out there with really great, non-generic art.

I don't care for the shoujo art style. It isn't bad per sé, it's just not my thing.

Not always, I have seen quite a number of nicely drawn shoujo mangas, it is all depends on the mangaka's drawing style and how the way the mangaka draws. CLAMP's Cardcaptor Sakura is nicely drawn I think and Naoko Takeuchi's Sailor Moon is also nicely drawn. But the only problem that I have with shoujo manga is that some of the guys are kind of girly looking and the female character's eyes are a bit too big.

Why would anyone generalize an entire manga demographic as either well drawn or badly drawn? There are about as many artist drawing them as titles. I obviously can't read all shojo manga but I only choose to read titles that have appealing art work.

Regardless of genre you'll find good and badly drawn manga. It just depends on your preference.

Usually if I find a manga author/artist that I like, I check out their other works as well. Tend to like those too, in a matter of fact.

Depends on the manga to be honest.
