Favorite Artist(s)?
Posted 2/4/08
Absolutely, undeniably, my favorites are Frida Kahlo and Artemisia Gentileschi.

I have a list of artists that interest me, but I can't seem to find it at the moment, so I'll just edit this post when I do.

There are many good artists out there, but most of them just produce stuff that entertains for a moment and then becomes quickly forgotten, but there is great art and there are great artists (though to each their own I suppose), and so I'm curious as to who everyone's favorite artist(s) are! Images are very welcome, but try not to post an obscene number.

Maybe I'm crazy, but my favorite artist is Marc Chagall... I can get lost in his work for hours and hours.

Your turn.

I wrote a paper on this guy. I really like his art. I cant remember the name of my favorite piece by him but I love the one with the clowns. Dammit I need to google this and found out what the name was.. I dnt have a favorite artist but I respect them since Im one myself.

Ah! There's too many to mention. I'll list a few. Ha ha.
Jackson Pollock- the most amazing Abstract Expressionist for me. (IMG: Stenographic Figure)

M.C Escher, absolutely mind-boggling works of art. Amazing and surreal. (IMG: Another World)

Claude Monet, his pieces always exude this elegance and brilliancy of life and nature. (IMG: Venice Twilight)

Leonardo Da Vinci, what can I say? He's a bloody genius. He's art is so full of different interpretations and meanings. Awesome. (IMG: La Scapigliata)

Wah, there's too many artists that I love. But these probably are my most favorites. *sighs* Art is love.

by the way, those colored squares you see that make up the picture are rather big, so from up close the painting looks abstract, and from the proper distance, the face emerges. The artists has paralysis so he cannot movie his arm naturally. He makes big squares of color and as they add up it becomes a realistic painting....

Audrey Kawasaki, Tessar Lo, Edwin Ushiro, Lisa Alisa, Amy Sol, MILK, Used Dandaid, Stella Hultburg, and MANY others. I can't even remember all of their names. I also like graffiti groups as well but I am very forgetful right now. lol

How the hell did I forget LeonardoDaVince!?!?!? He is like the genius of art, and if was still alive today, would be the epitome of all greater and higher arts!!!!!!!!

Dali is a big artist for me, I love staring at his paintings for hours, especially melting clocks... I also love to travel to new countries and just admire all of the sculpture and architecture.
