Note: I didn't know until JUST NOW that I can't change the sub-title that it is fixed!! OMG!!

WELCOME!

Why I put up this thread? Simply because to help EACH OTHER to master Japanese Basic Conversation. Not in a zillion of time in my mind to show off my Japanese skill as myself still studying hard..
with this too I hope u can get the most out of it and for me I get the chance to practice and study a lot more..
So to cut the long preface short.. Shall we begin~

Don't know where to start? Let's Start from Basic Greetings~

Good Morning : Ohayou gozaimasu
お早うございます。

*****
Good Afternoon / Hello : Konnichiwa
こんにちわ。

Good Evening : Konbanwa
こんばんわ。

Good Night : Oyasuminasai
お休みなさい。

Good Bye : Sayonara
さよなら。

Ohayou gozaimasu can be used to anyone, however, konnichiwa or konbanwa are rarely used when greeting people who we meet daily like family or co-workers.

If you happen to run into a co-worker outside the office in the afternoon it is more appropriate to say " aa, (name)-san, doomo" (アー、「名前」さん、どうも。) To superior, when leaving, instead of Sayonara (さよなら) more appropriate to use *osakini* shitsureishimasu (*お先に* 失礼します。)
*optional*

Additional Vocab:

お先に失礼します (osakini shitsureishimasu) = pardon me for leaving (first before anybody else, @ workplace/occasion like dinner or party)

************************************************* End of Lesson 1*************************************************

Think? There are few terms that mean "think" if that what you were asking, kathy-chan.. YEAY brie-chan lets help too ur Japanese must be BETTER, WAY BETTER than mine :)

Think1: opinion : to omou (と思う)
example:
What do you think of Tokyo?
Tokyo o dou omoimasu ka?
東京をどう思いますか?

note: *omou -> -masu form.. omou -> omoimasu

Think2: consider: to kangaeru (と考える)
example:
I'm thinking with my stomach (loool.. i noe.. for example sake..)
watashi wa watashi no onaka de kangaeru.
私は私のお腹で考える。

Think3: expression: daro (だろ)
example:
you will come!
anata wa kuru darou!
あなたは来るだろう!

No kidding!?
usodaro?
嘘だろ?

Think4: polite expression: deshyo (でしょ)
You must be kidding!
Jyoudan deshyo!
冗談でしょ!
pretty (can be replaced ), isn't it?
kirei, deshyo?
奇麗でしょ?

and maybe many other "think" :P

*feel free to correct me and add up*

I believe that is one of the japanese proverb..

猿 も 木 から 落ちる
saru mo ki kara ochiru
monkey too tree from fall
>>literally: even monkey(s) falls from the tree(s)/ out of tree(s)
>>meaning: everyone makes mistakes or nobody's perfect.

did i answer your question mimi-chan?

You: X-san, this is Y-san
Anata: X-san, kochira wa Y-san desu.
