Oh Slipknot! They are very good but never saw them live sadly. Was that the concert they gave in the year 2004? ^^

Yeah That was in 2004

Can someone explain to me what the appeal of Slipknot is?

They aren't particularly talented, none of their songs or guitar riffs are particularly memorable, they seem incredibly cheesy, the lyrics aren't especially thought provoking...

...Is it the masks?

Your opinion...

I really do like their music. My favourite songs would be: The Nameless, wait and bleed, vermillion (part 1 and 2), before I forget. ^^

While slipknot has a few songs i rly like, i don't think they're a great band in general either.

Some of my fav's include metallica, system of a down, iron maiden, led zepplin, slayer (dont pay much attention to the lyrics though, lol), static-x, disturbed, and king diamond/merciful fate. That's not all the music i listen to however. I'll listen to pretty much anything too, so my opinion's not that one sided.

Cool but you didn't really answer my question..

No not because of the mask. I used to dislike their mask when I was in 6th grade (10th grade now) but now I really see that it really is a part of them of who they are. It's original if you ask me. Also handy so people won't say when you walk on the street "OMG it's ...... from Slipknot!" +__+

My favorite song at the moment is Empires by Devin Townsend. That song alone is amazing but grouped together with the first two songs on that album then concluding with empires is orgasm worthy.

I recommend the song to anyone who likes epic, progressive sounding rock/metal

My favorites change all the time. Before Empires by Devin Townsend I would have said Kingdom by VNV Nation. (Heh, Empires, Kingdom)

It might not be up your alley. Devin Townsend is in fact one of the most talented muscians alive today but admitely he's not for everyone. I hope you like it :p
