is there a word nippongo ? my teacher say is nihongo.. nippon = japan nihongo = japanese
nippongo is the language...sometimes it's said as nihongo (probably foreigners say that) but the japanese call it nippongo

... nippon is Japan... And I believe it's an archaic, or atleast uncommonly used pronounciation. As far as I know, nihon is the most commonly used word for Japan..
nihonjin is japanese person.
and japanese language would be nihongo.
I've heard a good amount of Japanese, and I've never heard "nippongo" before.. =|

i've learnt a lot as well, but mostly is more or less the same as those mentioned..haha!! i'm currently studying japanese as well, and all i can say is...there is different ways of saying things.... because there's the formal form and casual form(when talking to friends, usually in jdramas)...and in my opinion...i think there is a more casual one...where i can hardly understand..haha...well...wish all of us luck to learn more japanese.....minasan ganbatte!!
