Omg. I've practically leart japanese from watching j-drama's and anime. It's really not funny. It's gotten to the stage where if a watch a raw ep I can understand whats going on. My sister often abuses my abillity by getting me to translate new eps for her. She could wait like, one more day.

I'm currently a self-learning gakusei so I do not know that much in vocabulary; however, i know the basic grammatic structure of a sentence and some common words. Douzo~

-chan - (honorific used after a name to refer a cute person/close friend/child/a girl)
chotto - a while/short time
chotto matte - wait a second!/wait a minute!/hold on! (informal, trying to catch a person--chasing--)

daijobun desu ka? - Are you okay/alright?
daijobun - I'm fine
daisuki - i like/love you (most common)
demo - but
desu - (ending particle in a sentence. Literally the period [.] of the sentence)
