every one seems to forget that ALL ANIME IS PROTECTED BY INTERNATIONAL COPYRIGHT LAWS
that means if it is not licensed in the US, UK or any where else it is still illegal it distribute it with out the permission of the Owners.
thus all fan subs are illegal as well

Actually its a bit more complicated than that. Japan copyright laws and american copyright laws are completely separate. Now japan cant do shit if an american fansub service subbed their series but if an american company copyrights it here after buying the rights from japan then they can get into trouble. But here is the thing even if both japan and america have it copyrighted it doesnt mean its also copyrighted in lets say Philippines. They can still watch it, sub it, etc for free without getting in trouble.

NO thats all wrong
Japan and US laws are different but International law comes in to play. if an American fansub service subs it the Japanese company CAN take action. since that own all rights to it.
they only sell off the rights to different regions because its easier then distributing it on their own

Haha its more complicated then we both said really. If it was as simple as we both described there wouldnt even be a cr because there wouldn't be any subbed.

gotta agree with you by the way he explained the international law it seems like all were doing is illegal if thats true then there shouldn't be a crunchyroll right now.

yes it more complicated but its the enforcement and subbs are illegal and technically so is CR its just that most Japanese companies dont push it. but a recent case of a Japanese company enforcing it is Bandai/Sunrise they pulled ALL their shows even ones not licensed in the US.

yes it is all illegal but most companies don't enforce it since it is a very hard and costly to do
now i did make it very over simplified but that is the most part for every major country

People claim to love the Japanese culture... Japanese businesses - well, they can get very easily offended, you know. The guy on the front page made a good point.

Let's put it like this. Imagine you're 8 years old again. You (the animating staff in Japan) drew a great picture, and your class, and some other classes (Japan/the internet) love it. However, there's a teacher in a higher class (American licensors) who want to put it up in their classroom (N. American territory) so that more people can see it. Imagine this. The teacher then goes back on you, and says that they aren't going to put it up, without a good reason.

You'd be pretty upset, right?

Stop complaining. If you want anime so badly, BUY it if your internet is a bit slow - if it's fast, then go on, watch it online - last time I checked, CR isn't the only place to watch anime... -_-

I bought a 24-episode boxset of Naruto for £10 today at my local collectibles shop. Notice that. Collectibles shop, NOT a retail outlet like Virgin or Zavvi, where the prices are ridiculously jacked-up. Look around a little. You CAN get anime cheaply.

Licensors are beginning to acknowledge that people don't like paying £20 a time for 3 or 4 episodes. For example, Death Note... I dunno if this is the same in America, but, in the UK, the Death Note DVDs come out every couple of months, and it's about 7-8 episodes on 2 discs. ^_^ And they're quite cheap! £15 for the single DVD, and an extra £5 if you want the figurine with it.

So, in conclusion, quit whining, and look for cheap anime to buy, and acknowledge the fact that other anime websites exist, who show licensed anime!

Dumb As* I'm not whining I just want to know on how long should I wait and I just like Japanese culture because they stand out and their unique but I'm proud of my own culture, got it?! I just like to watch anime because it's more entertaining than american cartoons. Can I ask you a question? Are you stupid or what? And the answer is a positive yes. Just because I posted this doesn't mean I hate crunchyroll, I'm just bummed out cause a lot of them are licensed and crunchyrolls my fave site and I never complained once for an anime being licensed. I already accpeted that Haaaaiii such a loser

P.S. I do buy DVD's. It's just that I can't buy them all. DUH!! I only get a limited amount of allowance you know and I do look for other websites
