I've always found playing videogames with my brothers is more fun than playing with friends because my friends are so bad at any game and my brothers are so good I entretain myself with just watching them, but yes I miss watching them when they use to play PSX

Everybody gets so nostalgic and emotional around old games and everybody loves to comment about how fun they were...

I think people only bother to remember the good ones (mario, kirby etc) and ignore the countless bad games (even by older standards), the physical limitations of hardware meant lots of games ended up recycling levels and enemies, minimizing plot and adding filler, as well as simply limiting the number of options the player has. The classic example of this is the beat-em-up...attack and jump, that's all you can do, well, you can jump attack, but thats about it. Fight your way through hundreds of similar looking enemies in similar looking enviroments and hope you don't stop jump kicking long enough for an enemy to land damage. Because they were so simple the had to make the game last by making them stupidly hard, instant death pits, cheap bosses, increasingly stronger and tougher enemies who look and act the same as their early game counterparts...

I miss the old days when games were fun and innovative. Now you can get fucking fired in some company's for being innovative (I'm look at you Square, you didn't make less money because you tried new stuff, you made less money because your dumbass's didn't release a game for fucking the whole year besides 1.)

Game's back then were fun and arcade style, games now, even the different games have similar looking environments (everything is brown, drab, and "realistic"). Not only that, to this day tons of character models are still recycled (most shooting games, the most popular franchise today have about 8 enemy character models, and games like DMC are the same) In fact, you basically just described games today, only they don't have a limitation, so whats there excuse?
