Stage Name: Sakai Izumi (坂井泉水)
Birth Name: Kamachi Sachiko (蒲池幸子)
Birth Date: February 6, 1967 - May 27, 2007

ZARD was a Japanese pop group under B-Gram RECORDS. Around the release of their third album, HOLD ME, all the band members had left except Sakai Izumi. ZARD then became the solo project of Izumi, writting all the music and lyrics herself. According to an episode of Music Station in 2005, ZARD has sold a combined total of 35,450,000 copies, making her the #8 best selling artist in Japan.

ZARD has also performed several songs that have been chosen as Japanese animation themes such as Detective Conan, Dragon Ball GT, and Slam Dunk.

Despite her healthy lifestyle, which included abstaining from tobacco and alcohol, Sakai was seriously ill at times. She had to stop her career temporarily due to an unnamed illness in 2001, and did not begin working in full mode until 2003. In June 2006, she was diagnosed with cervical cancer, which she immediately underwent treatment. She appeared to have healed, but discovered that her cancer had spread to her lungs, indicating a Stage 5 cancer. She began undergoing treatment at Keio University Hospital in April 2007. She never fully recovered.

However, Sakai was neither discouraged nor thought she was dying. After her death, the Japanese weekly magazine Friday ran an interview in which her said Sakai thought that modern treatments would enable her to live long. Her mother said that she greeted her visitors cheerfully and did not seem to show the effects of her illness. A fellow patient later said that they walked together at times and Sakai sang "Makenaide" for her when she could not walk. Finally, Sakai sent an e-mail to her staff saying that she was anxious to return producing music and was looking forward to another concert in late 2007.

Sakai died suddenly on 27 May 2007. Police judged her death accidental, the result of a fall from the landing of an emergency-exit slope at Keio University Hospital, where she was undergoing chemotherapy. The slope appeared to be very slippery due to rain the day before. According to police, the fall took place during a walk on the morning of 26 May 2007, from a height of about 3 meters. Sakai was discovered unconscious at around 5:40 a.m. by a passer-by and taken to the emergency room, where she died the following afternoon of head injuries. Due to the unusual and unlikely nature of her passing, police investigated for possibility of suicide, but concluded that it was indeed an accident. In the Friday article, her mother said that she took walks in rehabilitation and the location where she fell was her favorite place to meditate. Sakai had been planning to release a new album in fall 2007, as well as launch her first live tour in three years. She was 40. Her family was at her side, but it was reported that she never recovered consciousness.

Actor from coffee prince who died not too long ago from motorcycle accident....

OMG! I can't believe he died! On the 21st August 2008. Only a few days ago! OMG I'm sooo sad. He was so cute in Coffee Prince and was an upcoming star. I was looking forward to seeing him in CP 2 if they ever made one. He was sooo young. My condolences to his family. Does anyone know a bit more about how he died exactly. I know said it was a motorcycle accident but how exactly did it happened. Oh, I'm sooo upset !:-(

Name: Kanbe Miyuki (神戸みゆき)
Nicknames : Kanbe, Miyuki, Manma, Miyu, Mii-chan
Date of Birth : 1984.05.07
Date of Death : 2008.06.18

Miyuki Kanbe was an idol that starred in several TV shows, plays, musicals, and movies, including Kamen Rider Hibiki and Battle Royale II. She also released two CD singles; both were theme songs for the anime Mermaid Melody Pichi Pichi Pitch. Name: Watanabe Kazuki (渡辺華月)
Posthumous Buddhist Name: Houjyuin Kagetsu Sukou Kenkoji
Nick Name: Kazuki, Hime (meaning 'princess'), Kazurin, Kajurin, Jurin (only to Yuki)
Date of Birth: April 7th, 1981
Date of Death: October 31st, 2000

Kazuki (華月) was the founder, leader & guitarist of Raphael. He composed almost all of Raphael's music. He passed away on the 31st of October, 2000 due to a tranquilizer overdose. Before he passed away, he formed his side-project Yuri Juujidan. This band consisted of Chris Darkschneider (none other than Kazuki himself) on vocals, Kurt Burton (Kuruto, ex-Pleur) on bass and Mask on guitar. Their music is more electronical, unfortunately they only released one Maxi-Single and all of the song is instrumental because Kazuki passed away before being able to record the vocal track. Rumor has it that he taught Miyavi of Due'le Quartz how to play guitar.

That is so sad, I'm getting depressed from my own thread now

I remeber that so, so clearly
He was at the peak of his fame and bam! he was involved in a car crash
I couldnt believe it, my friend who is totally obsessed wiht him was gobsmacked. No one in Thailand could believe that he was in a koma :(
He was my fav out of the group, seriously. He is really, really handsome and cute too. Pouty lips, nice eyes, nice personality. Most peoples favorite
After about 4-5 years he regained consciousness but I guess it was just his misfortune that he contracted another disease because his body wasnt fully healed yet.
Even though D2B wasnt my favorite group back then, thinking of him always reminds of good times when my classmates would spazz about their new singles/new MV's. Without him, D2B was never really the same again :(
I miss you P'Big!

Autumn Fairy Tale’s child actress, Lee Ae-Jung (20) passed away after suffering from encephaloma, a brain tumor for 18 months. She was diagnoised when she went to the hospital and underwent two painful surgeries. Lee’s death shocked everybody because nobody was aware of her illness.

It was later reported that Lee Ae-Jung purposely asked the reporter who wrote about her illness to take it down, because she did not want others to worry about her. She also uploaded only cheerful pictures on her cyworld in an effort to prevent others from finding out about her condition. There’s no doubt in my mind that she was a sweet, thoughtful and considerate actress. Rest In Peace…

*Lee Ae-jung is best remembered for her role as young Shin-ae (later played by Han Chae Young) in hit drama series Autumn Fairy Tale.
