(0) I got 45 on my own test. I'm eeeh. Pretty close to being otaku. This test is for fun and not necessarily an accurate assessment of you being an otaku! ========================= EDIT EDIT EDIT Thanks for popping this quiz, folks! As of 03 Sept 2008, here's the results of the quiz so far! Number of entries used (complete answers that I could use, that is): 78 Average Score of Quiz Takers: 47 Standard Deviation: 23.2783 And now, how everyone else answered, arranged from top to bottom!: 17. You have watched more than 30 animes in your lifetime [95%] 2. You rabidly wait for the next upload of your favourite series and whine when it's late [71%] 16. More than half of your music collection is Jpop. From anime OPs and EDs. [68%] 12. You actually can understand the concept of "moe" [67%] 18. You have watched more than 100 animes in your lifetime [64%] 3. You frequent a bulletin board or forum and write about your reaction to the last episode and read way into the episode about where the series is going, as well as animation quality [62%] 7. You purchase a fair amount of DVDs of your favourite series. [37%] (shocking!) 15. You are willing to pay for good fanfic or doujinshi [36%] 5. You may not actually have a best friend [27%] 1. You can read, write, and converse in Japanese, AND it isn't your first language. [24%] 11. You cosplay at anime conventions [19%] (not enough cosplayers, lol) 9. You may not actually have IRL friends, for that matter [14%] I - REALLY - DO - UNDERSTAND - THE - CONCEPT - OF - MOE!! I don't spend any cash on my anime material.. I am 100% pirate.. You spelled Akihabara wrong.. And that's my number 2 place to visit while in Japan.. I can converse but not write Japanese, and it is my third language.. I've watched over 100 anime, and because of that, there are some I can't watch anymore and I have developed a particular preference.. I don't cosplay.. I think there are very very few good cosplayers in America.. (The reason being that the Japanese have been practicing it ever since the beginning of anime and before..) Although I don't go on boards that often, I often reply what my reaction to certain episodes of anime.. I don't like J-Pop.. I prefer J-Rock..The Pillows ROCK!! You know, I think true Otakus are determined by how deep they dig into it.. They'll search for the manga, Other work done by the manga'ka, short novel, voice actors, the history of the voice actors, voice actor's music, opening and ending songs of the anime, they'll even go into the mythology of it, the company of the anime, the company of the manga.. No one's an Otaku unless they read the original work.. When you think about it, it's like a branch.. A large majority of anime is connected by genre, creator and company.. |
