I'm a mild otaku. I do love anime but I'm a mild nerd in general. Anime is one my top guilty pleasures. I usually don't tell people about my interest in Anime. I love foreign movies as well not just asian cinema. Foreign cinema is something you have to allow yourself the joy of experiencing and give yourself to the cultural differences in expressions of art. Anime is the same way. I don't think a lot of people understand how complex or intelligent anime can be; they usually associate it with pokemon or overrated animes like DBZ.
