Racism.. can be funny at some points, and seriously annoying in some other points.. but its all the same really. I agree with Sergio, that it depends on how you say it 8D

I don't like racism, it's hurtful and childish. Some racist people should get the punishment they deserve! They should just... just... DIE!!!

I've experienced racism tons of times. I think that if its serious racism, then it shouldn't be acceptable, however, if its the comedic racism. One that is intended to be funny and not taken personally. Well, that is okay i guess

Racism -- a belief or doctrine that inherent differences among the various human races determine cultural or individual achievement, usually involving the idea that one's own race is superior and has the right to rule others.

Why do people quote other sites when the subject doesn't ASK what it is but something ABOUT it? Anyone here ask what racism is? No? I didn't think so.

Have you ever experienced racism in one point in your life?, if so, would you share this experience?
Yes and no. Here in the UK it's mostly having to deal with stereotypes and misconceptions and in Japan ... it's same but different. Our uncle is overzealous in stamping out the half of me by teaching me everything he knows about Japan, its history, culture and tons (only 5% of his long-winding lectures sank into my brain). He doesn't like it if we are being "too foreign". He's a cool guy with a big heart - I like him, but not the nationalist in him.

He's not atypical as some other Japanese are like that, too. For instance, they don't like it if a white person can't speak Japanese, but don't like it when the person can speak Japanese. They think a non-Japanese speaking Japanese is weird. Stuff they said about foreigners sometimes shocked me, but I don't think they were aware of how racist their comments were. They treated me and my brothers okay, but there was an underlying current after they saw photos of our mother (who was a blue-eyed blonde). Some saw us as exotic, some saw us as foreigners, some saw us as half-breeds, and some accepted us as we are. It's same in the UK. I dunno.

I experienced racism (or rather, race-based class discrimination) more from 'rival' asians than any other races, especially from those in Hong Kong. Racism from different corners of East Asia toward each other is nuts.

Do you think racism should still have a place in a technically advanced culture such as ours?
Ideally, no, but it's so part of the human nature that it'll die the moment the last living person on earth died.

Oh, get me. I'm chatty today.

Some guy called me by a racist thing the other day. and it was uncalled for. now, dont get me wrong, i am not crying about it or anything like that. i asked the guy why he was racist to me and he just shrugged and said because were in his country.
I think the best course of action is to beat racist. because racism is WRONG. it is really only a recent thing that has got alot worse that it used to be. Instead of just a few racists, now you find whole towns that are racist, as well as groups (such as KKK, BNP and the likes). I dont mean to go on but racism is something i have not yet understood as to why people do it. why should my origin have any thing to do with who i am or what i do.
Bottom line, Racists are down right out of order, and there is no need for them. This applies to all people who are racists, white, black, asian or whatever!

Everyone's a little bit racist
It's true.
But everyone is just about
As racist as you!
If we all could just admit
That we are racist a little bit,
And everyone stopped being
So PC
Maybe we could live in -
Harmony!
(Excerpt from Avenque Q)

It's the truth though, everyone is at least a little racist. I don't even care is someone is extremely racist, as long as they don't act on their opinion, and can present a decent argument for said opinion.

At my last school I belonged to a group of multi-race we were from everywhere and it didn’t matter what you looked like, if you fit in then you were in. there was some racist jokes in my group but they were just for fun. No one took them seriously because we all had a uniquely similar personality and knew that what we said to each other wasn’t really serious. There were other same race groups however who hated on other groups of different races. There were fights that got out of hand especially between Maori (native new Zealanders) and Pakeha (maori word for white people, originally meant long white pig as pakeha were seen as another food source). The worst fight was when those two groups ganged up on all asian people.
One time we got a new person in the group. He didn’t understand our friendly state of mind and therefore took offence and a daily joke one of my mates said. This told me something.
There is no such thing as friendly racism. It all stems from the same hateful root and needs to be cut out of society especially if society want to grow and develop.

STOP THE RACISIM!

As much as I would like racism to be out of the picture I don't think racism can be fully eliminated because it's a concept, much like how you can't get rid of terrorism because it's also a concept. I don't care if people support it or not. However I don't support actions that lead to violence, hate-crimes, etc. because of racism. I also do not condone segregation based on race.
