I am turning 17 tomorrow, which is the legal age in some places.

I feel I'm steadily turning mature every single day, and I'm pretty excited about it.

As you get older and more aware of the world becoming more responsible while dealing with your responsibilities, you learn about life and the subtle consequenses to some actions or decisions. When ppl get to 17+ in age its allso just around the time when you start to think "Wow kids today." Why bc you have expreance by then and can clearly see the imachurity bc of it...thats allso why there is a "lader" system to age. Its like being in 6th grade then when in 8th your like geez those kids and how they act is funy, same thing with going from a freshmen to a senior in high school.

Thing is we' ve all been there being a kid/teen and besides its fun. I think we all have done things when looking back make you say what was i thinking, allthough stupid looking back it is still a fun memory or maybe not .

The elderly do get respect bc you realize that your parents will get old and become elderly as well making a lot of ppl respectfull twards them. I say both the elderly and youth both deserve more respect then they get.

Ageism against me is the reason I do not follow the fourth commandment.

I find younger people annoying and older people do not automaticly gain my respect for having been alive longer like its some sort of bloody achevement

I also find older people seem to spout out bs when they have little awareness of the topic and even less of anyone being around them who they may offend eg. talking loudly about kids today while on the bus

i respect my elders for the most part. the only time i'm really disrespectful is when a person older than me is self-righteous and doesn't value my opinion at all because i'm young. i hate how there are so many stupid kids who show no respect towards anyone so to many adults all youths are seen as immature, disrespectful idiots who don't care about anyone or anything but themselves.

I only respect people worth respecting. I get treated like a useless piece of shit delinquent by the general population of adults, because that is the stereotypical view of teenagers in New Zealand. If I say something, I am incorrect because I am younger than them. If they something with no logic or evidence, they are correct because they are older than me. Ageism is an annoyance because people who do it don't treat you as an individual, they treat you like everyone else your age, which I am in most ways completely different to.

. We are the one who let the elderly think of us as irresponsible little kids. Because when we have any small fixable problem we always ask for help our parents

Not at all. Apparently a fourteen year old is completely illiterate and is totally unable to program with Unix, C++, generally use Linux, etc.

People are dicks.

that's true, people sometimes have the tendency to treat their peers, and even friends and family like pure shit.

I respect people enough to leave them alone with the expectation that they leave me alone. They only gain further respect/appreciation by proving themselves to me, and I make no distinction between young and old.

i can get really annoyed by the younger ppl when an elder cannot have a seat in a bus..

The elders sometimes fall and break bones here in denmark
but the younger ppl dont try to prevent it..
it happens all too often in puplic transports
when the busses breaks for red light.

the young people ignores the elderly who needs help and a place to sit..

heck i even ask girls my age to use my seat.. id rather stand up then..

Most older people (50+) I find are incapable of keeping their opinions to themselves and very capable of being ageist. Apparently experience is quantity and not quality
