basic queries:
lets say you are in a departmental store (depa-to) and you don't know which floor (kai) the accessories (akusesari-) are. you need to ask someone so you say:

sumimasen (excuse me)
akusesari- wa nan kai desuka

akusesari- is the subject of the sentence which is normally placed at the front for this type of query

in this question you are asking for the no. of the floor and for most questions regarding no, you add nan to the unit which is kai, thus forming nan kai.

ka is always put at the back of the sentence for queries on the 5W and 1 H.

for this type of query, the most common structure is
subject wa (question word) desuka

however that is not always the case, and it depends on the context/qn word! please refer to the examples next to the question words for a more accurate clarification

basic question words include:

is there a....
for objects, use arimasu
for people and animals, use imasu

eg. is there a cat = neko ga imasuka
eg. is there a pen = pen ga arimasuka

once again, ka is used for this type of sentence structure!

why
in japanese why is a verb and the plain form of why is "dousuru"
for a more rhetorical why? you can ask "doushite"
for a why that needs an explanation use "doushitan desuka"

*whenever n is added to the back of a verb, it is asking for an explaination OR replying to someone who is asking for one.

to ask a specific why? use doushite [subject-n] desuka
eg. doushite sora(sky) wa aoi(blue)n desuka = why is the sky blue?

vocabulary used

please give feedback on the usefulness of this topic! i really hope this helps you all!

As far as I know, "nire (楡)" means "Elm tree", lol

"Heiwa (平和)" is freedom from wars, "anshin (安心)" is freedom from troubles, and "heion (平穏)" is calmness. "Peaceful" for the non-violent kind of peace is "heiwa-teki (na) [平和的 (な)]", and "peaceful" for tranquility is "shizuka (na) [静か (な)]"

As for "lightning", it's "inazuma (稲妻)"

People usually seem to post any thread that they're in when they think of a question...your thread title had the word "question" too, so maybe they thought they could post their inquiries here, haha.
