Let's see...

I haven't seen my mom for 5 years. And back when we were still in touch, we never talk much either and I always got push over. So, that might be a "nope, not really".

My dad... He works and hang out with his friends alot. He don't come home that much either. So let's see, in the morning, he will come home about 7 a.m to get ready for work. Then comes to his friends or whatever (maybe his woman?) homes and there he spend the rest of his days. He sleeps there, eat dinner and breakfast and finally comes home at 7 a.m.

He only come home to yell and drop us to school. He cheated on my mom once before, so what's make me think that he won't do it again? He don't know me anymore, he have no idea what I do everyday, he have no idea what's going on with me in school and he don't know what I'm doing with my life either. The only thing he do? Give me my allowance.

When I turn 16, I plan on having my own job and make my own money. I never want to rely on him. So practically, my friends knows be better than those people I live with.

the funny thing is most parents know waaaay more than their kids realize they do, the parents just don't let on - smoking, drinking, drugs, relationships.... odds are, they know

of course there is "know" and "understand"

as i get older i can relate to my parents a lot more so there is more mutual understanding, but there are still some significant differences

you relate to your parents O_O;
I think you big enough for staying away from your parents : /

Well... I've been living away from home for quite a few years now so I don't think that's an issue. When I was in high school, I was almost kicked out of the house several times and was not what you would call a "model child." But over the years I've mellowed out quite a bit and gotten my priorities straight. Once you get out your teens, you'll start seeing life a bit differently and then you'll understand.

I think Mark Twain put it best:
"When I was a boy of fourteen, my father was so ignorant I could hardly stand to have the old man around. But when I got to be twenty-one, I was astonished at how much the old man had learned in seven years"

My mom left when I was little and my dad is dead. But when he was alive he knew me 100%. We finished each others sentences. I know how werid that sounds but I wasn't raised by my dad. I didn't start knowing him until I was about 14. Really knowing him. Turns out personality was almost identical.

Of course my parents don't know me 100%, and I don't know my sons 100%. Who would want either situation? There are some things you want to keep to yourself, or just share with your friends.

I think my parents think that they think they know more about me than they really do.

It's impossible for anyone else to know you "100%". In fact, none of you even know everything about yourselves let alone about anyone else.

no, not at all
sometimes they even forget how old i am =__= hahaha
but i dont know, im pretty much the same at home and school and anywhere else
sadly im not one of those people with a cool split personality (like batman! hahaha)
im more like.. "an opened picture book" hahaha very.. umm predictable
yeah, my parents know me to an extent... but i suppose they dont know everything about me yet O.O.. ie my friends, the fact that i sleep in class, that i dont actually have hwk everynight (and thier assumption that i spend my computer times doing hwk is only thier imagination).. but yeah, just trivial stuff like that
